    I flash my bios when I build/buy a new machine. Did it last week in fact, although I found that if you flash the latest manufacturers bios to an OEM motherboard it tends to kill preinstalled vista install activation status, something to do with a SLIC Table in the bios (which was crippled), oem has it, manufacturers doesn't. My desktop now temporarily thinks its a laptop (until I ring microsoft and sort it out with them), but I can now overclock it as soon as I get some new cooling sorted
