Well a newegg search shows two cards with that cooler, one of them fits the specs and is a toxic edition (which isn't on the card you linked to). But the other one that has the EXACT same cooler is a 1GB.

So I would guess it is the toxic edition but without the sticker? Or newegg has their specs wrong, because the supposed 1GB card is actually $50 cheaper.

That's the new version of Sapphire's HD4870. The 512MB version has product code 11133-03, while the 1GB version has product code 11133-04. The cooler looks similar to the HD4870 Toxic, but I'm not sure if that's the case.

Yeah, we're getting shafted here in Europe! In part I also blame the HD4830. Since that particular flavour of the RV770 has appeared prices for HD4850 and HD4870 cards seem to go up.

I think that correlation can be discarded, I'm more looking at the economic crisis that's going on as a reason for the prices.

The 512MB version sells for around DKr 2000 here in Denmark, while the 1GB version sells for about DKr 2250. That's about $340 and $380, respectively.

As for the HD4830, I saw a price increase of about $25 on HD4850 and HD4870 cards literally at the same time the HD4830 cards debuted. At least here in Denmark. It might not be *that* much, and those increases may or may not have happened in other parts of Europe, but the increase is there and it's noticable.

Wow, $80 less here for the same card? That's ridiculous!
