I'm confused, you have 4gb of ram, and in the system panel it shows 4gb of ram.
    So whats the problem?
    Mine is the same way.

No he means what the task manager is saying.
In reality I know why it says that but I don't know how to explain this in a easy, simple and quick fashion. Just take it as its normal, and it's correct, Windows does not lie, and everything works perfectly.

Well it can see that you have a 4.0GB kit but it can't actually tell is my guess as in it can see your memory is labled as 4GB but it can only use 3.0GB.

Isn't there a hack that will allow Windows to see all 4gigs?

windows does see all 4 gigs, the task manager is showing the ammount of memory that windows uses after the memory the video uses.

Looking on Dxdaig, it says i have 1531MB of video memory (when my card is 256) Why is it giving it so much.

Though if it is still all useable then its not so bad. just i have the odd time i max out my ram and 1531mb dose seam a bit of a waste :p

i heard ram is effected by the VGA ram. I mean when you have 4GB windows 64bit read it that way but if you have 512mb VGA then you are using 3.5 GB at real !!!! that what I know. maybe i'm right or i'm wrong.

Nah thats on 32bit? windows can read 4gb on 32bit but it has to take all other ram out of that so gfx card and such. On 64 bit i can use all my ram. but lots of mine is been wasted? on giving my gfx card more ram.

@COmputerking, He uses Vista 64-bit. It says on the system properties.
The picture in the system properties is a registry hack, it it supposed to be for computer manufactures so that they can put their logo.

when did i say i use 32bit  i said on 32bit the max ram supported by windows is 4gb then - ram for gfx cards and such, because it can not use a total over 4gb, where as i have 4gb plus what else in in the system, but the ati drivers are putting lots of my ram aside for the gfx card.

So on 32 bit the extra ram dose not get used at all. but on 64 its been put to extra for the gfx card. if you get me
