Motors Best place to buy car parts from? (MK4 Astra)

I'm stuck. I need a new rim and two new seatbelts for my car, but I'm only turning up ebay as the place to get stuff, which is not ideal. Most websites on the subject look like they are being run from a shed by monkeys, so I'm not really sure where to look and I'm not being ripped off by a dealer either.

Where else is there to source stuff (other than a scrappie)?

    TIA!

Find a mechanic, make friends with him, buy him a few, he'll get hold of you one for ~£10 (I had a problem with part of my seatbelt, needed to order an entire kit in... I have an Astra Clubman mk3)

Mates rates means it'd be about the cost of a pint to install as well :)

I'd probably home in on any Vauxhall owners forums with a classified section. I get 90% of my bits from just placing wanted ads on car forums - stuff like belts and odd wheels might not turn up on the Bay, but chances are there is someone out there breaking a car that fits the bill.

Yup, owner's forums are the best place, and for smaller bits, ebay. :)

I've resorted the 'teh bay :( most owners forums I found so far are for sports mods and dick swinging kit etcetc There are a few breakers but nothing yet for my needs but I'll keep an eye out. :)

Even the modding forums will be able to help. You'd be surprised how many lurkers go on those places just to sell stuff.

And there's always the problem of "What do I do with the stock seatbelts after replacing them with 17-point racing harnesses?"

I had a MK4 Astra and always wanted to find new doorcards, for some doorpods. It was impossible to source them cheaply, I ended up giving up completely.

The owners forum is the best, google astrasport.

No probs Bindi. Actually here's the link:

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/vauxhallpartswarehouse_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ

On the other hand you could try the AOC/ Astra owners club. It's a decent forum and you can ask around. They're pretty willing to help! :)

Not sure about this, but a guy whom I recently bought an sri turbo off said LMF Vauxhall were decent too, but not sure if they only do more styling parts than anything else.

Hope you get sorted either way!

Nah, just be gentle with the pre-tensioning kind. :)

    :) Thanks!

It's stupid but I'm stuck just trying to take the sodding child locks off the rear doors now. There's meant to be a latch but I cant see one. Either that or both doors inside handles dont work :(

    Awesome! Found it.

There was nothing in the Hayes manual, or the one in the glove box and the only thing I found online was talking about a rocker switch which confused the hell out of me :|
