We have a distillery at home, we make our own Grappa one a year. Old washing machines make a great housing for larger stills ;).

This is the most advanced setup i have seen. All this little systems working together.Very clever idea to take the load off the main system.Did i get this right that you wiln use an amd setup instead of the intel you had planed in the beginning?Anyway keep up the excellent work.

P.S.Maybe a little off topic but, how can i use a pc for a firewall for the entire network, like you will do with the Alix board?

First, you get flagged by Homeland Security, now the ATF and FCC. You better not cross the border for a while... If they hear you are launching potatoes into 'merican soil, you might get Canada cluster bombed!:hehe:

@Mino - I wont be watercooling the raid card. At least it's not in the plans yet.

@Nexxo - I could turn it into a bong cooler I suppose, but like HTR said it may be tricky and dangerous to use the hooch in the loop.

@slisgrinder - I'm not sure really. Newegg.ca, infoneccomputers, and NCIX are my primary part suppliers.

@Spyrious - I always planned on using AMD. it works good enough for me. The Alix board is actually designed to be a firewall router, but you can run linux based softwares like smoothwall, pfsense, or monowall to turn a PC into a firewall.

I'm counting that CESUS (Canadian CIA) has something better to do that worry about little old me... but now that I say that out loud I think they likely don't.

@Boy from oz - Any advice you can offer a distilling newbie?

Well basically just make sure you have a constant heat and constantly test the each batch for alcohol content. Remember, the first little bit that comes out is poison (with Grappa anyway), don't drink it. Filter all liquid coming out through a funnel stuffed with cotton balls. This way you make sure all impurities are left from your brew.

They got a google scan running all day to see whos talking about them.

Expect a man in a black suit to come to your door and ask you to 'have a seat over there'.

Maybe I should be worried too..... :eeek:
