What is the name for these?

I wanting to get some for a project I am working no but have no clue what they are called. They are made of metal and are rather small. They are used to clip things into them like a rod or whatever.

Here's a sketchup I made to show what it is....

Hopefully someone knows what they are called.

It's either a thingamajig or a whatchamacallit. It's definately not a mucket though.

i'd call it a "bent scrap of metal". or a rod hanger.

edit: no, it's a conduit clamp (see john, i can be productive too :p )

On a productive note - how small is small? Shower curtain ring small? Ball point pen small? Clip what to tubing?

Small is small enough to hold a 3/8" or so rod in it. I should have mentioned that.

They arent necessarily shaped exactly like that. I only spent a few min on that. But you get the idea Im sure.

supertoad, sorry thats not what I want. :(

edit: heres one that looks better

I'd just call them brackets and be done with it. :D

On a more serious note though:

There are these things, which would translate to something like tube-/pipe-wrappers.
Then there are these, which seem more solid and which would translate to something like tube-/pipe-clamps.

Those are the ones I were able to find rapidly, and I think a common name for them would be something along the lines of pipe-clamps.

Could be a cane holder of some sort. They normally have these small square-ish rubber rollers on them, though.

its for my shifter I made for my PC.I have it finished already and currently using spring to keep it in place but the wires I soldered onto the springs dont always keep a secure connection. I've seen someone use things just like I posted to hold the shifter rod in gear. That will have a way better connection between the rod and I wont have problems with it 'jumping out of gear'.

I'll see if I can find a pic of someone else using it.

Looks like a curtain rod holder to me... or something'or'other...

Why not head to a local hardware store and find one? I once shopped around a Menards for like 30 minutes trying to find some 'banding' metal... it seemed if you didnt know the exact name for it no one in the store had a clue. Better off just looking for it! :D

Why not just use some magnets? You already have the guide at the top.

Go into your local hardware store and look around in the plumbing section. Pipe clips are quite common and come in a variety of different sizes/shapes.

Trying? Didn't atomic get it with this?

Looks exactly right to me...did you scroll all the way down? There's one like this:

    Vaguely resembles your second mock-up.

To be honest if it's not on that page he linked it probably doesn't exist :)
