Exactamondo, that's what i was thinking, which would be ok, but...
Some short but thick alloy brackets/legs, sort of like what you made up front, would be much stronger and would also make it look tougher.... it would also suit better since you have these massive arms up front! I'm thinking she might look a little funny with these big arms and tiny legs!

Nice work on the extra limbs there frenkie. I like the joints. I do think it could go even bigger as mvagusta said, and a glow effect would go well with the rest of it!

but don't let us boss you around into something you don't like the looks of. :)

yeah, i know. But you all got good points. It struck me too, that the arms look like crane-arms on a crane, but it stands on a few 13 "wheels. Looks almost comical. Like a Tyrannosaurus but then he has huge behind legs and tiny front arms.Anyway, I allready started with the (c) mvagusta arms, :D still needs a lot of thinking and tinkering to make them look "in-sync". Sting is not done yet!

The dual pcb with glowing plexi legs will look good :thumb:
You can make them really match by just putting something on top of them.
Maybe some alluminium brackets on top of each leg, or some sort of component sitting on top of each leg would do the trick to beef them up?
The good thing about making the brackets is that not only will they match, but you can bolt these legs on to the main body.

I like the use of reverse psychology there Modminded :thumb: Excellent way to get him to do exactly what we want :naughty:

    LOL! I'm still chuckling. :D
I wish I was that devious!

Ditto... I love the originality, and the reuse of PC materials.

    You! you......fiends ! You guys should be in a new Austin Powers movie ! :D :D :D

Ok ok last modification for the rear-legs; by combining two ideas of readers ( thank you for that! )
I made two sections, one thicker sandwich from circuitboard, plexie and circuitboard. And one thinner and smaller one with

    one circuitboard less.

To bring back the aluminium-look, I used a 3mm strip to hold it all together.

Looks nice with a little light behind it.

I glued the read-write heads to the legs and then sanded the whole smooth.

I just had to modify the large arms with more circuitboard, to get it more "in-sync", agreed?

With the EL-tapes on, in the light you dont see much of them...

...but in half-light it looks just as I expected it would.

Still have a hard time making pix in the dark, but this should give you an idea.

    And the other side.

    And front/top.

    An overview with the flashlight.

This is the end of the work-log. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed making the case.

Captain Obvious says: "you need better -in the dark- pics.." :D

    Nice mod. Good work.

Although... but... it needs a mouth-plate, rather than the raw slot-in optical, IMO :)

Really nice, you never seem to be out of original ideas.

For dark shots try fixing your camera with a tripod or just on a book or something and use the timer function so you dont have to push on the camera the moment you make the picture.

Pre-bended them to follow the curve of the tail.

Inserted the LED-strip and hooked it up to the HD activity. Connected the laser to a 12 V line.

Ending the story with a small movie, I still can't capture the green laser very good. I sprinkled some saw-dust to show it bettter.

    Nice addition.
To bad the laser doesn't show, mayby changing it for visible light is an option.
