A fine example of "tricking the consumer" the Nvidia way:
    8800GT > 9800GT > GTS240 > for same price = more $$$ from old stuff!

We know how this works, but a 'normal' consumer asking in a computer store for a videocard upgrade for his old 800GT, store employee recomend the new GTS240....

    It will happen!

Even ignoring the confusion, this seems like a bad thing to me, I would much prefer a 9800GTX+ than a GTX250, it just sounds so much better.

My cards are now over a year old, yet remain (if the rumours turn out to be true) current gen :D
I'm certainly getting my moneys worth from my purchase.

If you're buying computer hardware at a brick-and-mortar store AND are listening to what the generally moronic employees are telling you, you're going to get overcharged anyway.

Oh my god, computer hardware doesn't change drastically between generations! Especially in a current market climate that demands new releases every few months, when hardware can't improve anywhere near that quickly. Calm down, take a deep breath, and either buy a new card or keep what you have. Just be happy there are still enthusiast products available.

Really, I would like some kind of answer on how Nvidia is going to handle SLI for these dx10 cards.
