    BBC news works fine here
talking of the news feeds, i read in lcdc forums that u could wrap rss text on several lines by say having
    line1: RSS BBC News
    Line2: [#$RSSBB1]
    Line3: [#$RSSBB1]
    Line4: [#$RSSBB1]
    Line5: [#$RSSBB1]

and [#$RSSBB1] data would be wraped on line 2 to 5, i didnt manage to get that to work though, got rid of line scrolling aligned text left but still wont work

Mashie: i had the chance of trying ur set of screens long ago .... are those 56 screens calculated w/ the old method or w/ BeSmrat ?

Directron are one of the companies that sell them... link

    Or try ClearPc direct...

Blimey! ClearPc seems to be selling the full acrylic case directly for only $99 - see here - plus shipping...

    Just a warning to everybody...
DO NOT use isopropyl alcohol to clean fingerprints on the filter bundled with this VFD. :nono:
I unlocked an AthlonXP using white-out and rear window defogger repair kit, and after cleaning the old Arctic Silver 3 thermal paste off core with the alcohol I noticed the filter for the VFD was dirty, so I wiped that down too. Bad idea. The filter is now somewhat blue with streaks of opaque white. :waah:

    hi there

is there a guide on how exactly to change the start screen, no offence but im getting kinda bored of the Bit-Tech one, I'm not exactly sure how to change the startup screen effectively without f*cking it all up

is there a little guide, the readme's with the downloadable startup screens arent v clue to me, most dont explain exactly what to load and what to replace/delete on the existing events.

    help meh please :(

with all the probs people have with lcdc because it isnt designed for noritake vfds wouldnt it be easier to use different software.

doesnt something like lcd smartie work on this display?

    No.

    Rob.

EDIT: Ok perhaps that wasn't a very helpful answer, lcdc is by far and away the best serial character display software available and that it does so well with these graphics is amazing. You can make LCD Smartie work with this display (I had a short play) but you can't do nearly as many things with it (no flashy intros, no screen transitions, no icons and probably no line scrolling due to the way you'd have to format in smartie), so it's a free alternative but not a better one. Better software really has to have been designed for a graphic display, it's as simple as that. Trust me, if there were anything better I'd have used it instead (and if there were anything nearly as good i'd probably have provided support as well, I'm not being paid by mat-d-rat to make you buy lcdc :().

I haven't really checked but I'm fairly certain the circuit for isolating the outputs on this display and allowing them to drive a high power output (36W per channel) is identical to this one - http://www.bit-tech.net/article/96/

I'll go and read the datasheet again and make sure though :)

    Rob.

EDIT: Yep all looks fine, maybe I'll test it soon.

You can control 1 in LCDC... no more without a big software change from mat-d-rat :(
