Just wondering if you are shooting with a 20D why are those last pics so hazy? I love the chrome though keep up the great work.

Not at all please do.. :thumb: Whats cool is that it's a universal-fit.. Any PSU cover will fit and become a 5.25" backside bay cover on any standard size computer case..

@ Diosjenin : thanks for the heads-up on hardware..

@boy4oz : the power of drinking and looking at piles of parts and thinking... :)

@AFX : It's very difficult to shoot shiny chrome and copper in a black case. I would need to not use the flash, that would mean setting up a tripod just to shoot those simple pictures of an idea I had. The pictures are "brightened" via photoshop so you can truly see what's going on. Unfortunately, that adds the grain you spoke of. Sorry..

Nice an almost copper color fan! I have a similar one in my rig, it's a nice change from the old red, green, blue.

The color is great (perfect for the project).. BUT this machine will contain only one (single) fan (120mm).. From..
    Scythe
    slipstream model..
    110CFM @37db.. (those are great numbers for a 120mmX25mm fan) ..
It's in that package I missed on Friday..:wallbash: It will be in my hands Monday.. Pictures will follow..
@ fstfrddy: How is that leg? Get well-soon, I need more copper parts.. :D get back to work, drag yourself out to that workshop.. You have two legs, only one is lame.. (only kidding-fella)..
@BF: thanks for posting-up..Your SpeLL7 is looking very good..
    Next up for the project:
Show you the Feser gear and mock it up..
Get the power supply installed in the box, and DO the needed motherboard-tray-mod to hide as much of that wiring as I can.....
    Happy Saturday Night Gentleman..

    New Radiator

    The new radiator:
    also a TFC acrylic shroud..
    lets take a look
    [IMG]
first impression, this is a MASSIVE 120mm radiator. It's twice the thickness of the BlackIce it's replacing.
the unit has unique feature I have not seen on any other radiator.
a small screw to help get the air out of your H20 loop.
not sure how much it would really help, but..
    the shroud
    [IMG]
    I like this thing
    [IMG]
the unit is designed to accept two 5mm leds.
    Here's the mod..
same deal the black ice received. I re-tapped the radiator for the larger M4 bolts and added some AC Ryan Hex-mesh to it's face
    [IMG]

I also re-tapped the back side for the same M4 bolts
    [IMG]

    bolted up
    [IMG]

The radiator and it's shroud will take up much more room then the older radiator did. And that creates a space-issue between it and the pump. As luck would have it, the fan 120x25mm
    [IMG]
fits perfectly in between the front of the case and the front panel. Like so:

    the front of the case:
    that X-stuff seems unnecessary..
    :dremel:
a hole for the fans' wire to make it's way back into the case
    [IMG]
and a rubber grommet for a clean install
    [IMG]

Lastly, I had to try out some lighting.. The red led's will be replaced with orange, only mock-up

    That's it Guys..
and a HUGE thanks to the folks at Sidewinder Computers for the gear !!
    Have a great weekend..

    You're a lucky guy, MS!
The rad is massive, I've tried it about two weeks ago, and it performs over the top!
    Mmmm, orange led? Curious...

Man an amazing mod, excellent attention to detail. Those copper tubing clamps looks fantastic.

Those rad shrouds work by eliminating the dead spot a fan makes (the centre of the fan). This way the entire surface of the radiator gets air flow rather than the area directly behind the fan blades and not the motor.

It is that.. It's a bit different from the BlackIce model I was going to use.. They are both 2-pass radiators. But, it looks like the Feser is a "2-pass double row" (I think)..
Also, the fins of the feser are less densely-packed than the BlackIce:

    side by side
    Feser:

    BlackIce:

the fin layout of the Feser should equal better airflow through the radiator..

Orange the new Blue.. Not sure.. But, copper has a orange-tint, so (IMHO) orange lighting makes sense for the machine ( will use some white leds as well)..
Excellent 120mm radiator review here ... How is your German..
Thanks for following along Guys and thanks for the comments..

The Feser rads (like the PA120 series) are optimised to work with low rpm fans. I'm guessing that's why the fins are spaced further appart. The Black Ice rads require more airflow to get the same results.
