Ticket to see Watchmen, and the book to read up on the story before watching the film

On the whole, really quite excellent - several of the prison scenes were a bit hyorkworthy, and I had to throw up after the angle grinder incident, and I swear the number of times I saw "John"'s wang almost turned me bi-curious...

But hey, all in all, and awesome film and will be buying on DVD, but I'll be skipping the odd scene here or there.

A CeWe Square Linen photobook from Jessops. The software to create it is pretty funky!

    Recent Purchase: Left 4 Dead

It's wicked fun. Unfortunately, it also has the bad habit of hard crashing every half-hour or so.
This prompted me to do a proper thermal test of my GPU. After running oZone 3D's 'FurMark' stress test, my X1950 hit 104c :eeek: . Turns out that at 105, the card shuts itself off before risking a minor explosion.

Latest Purchase: Compressed gas duster. Hopefully giving the fins a fresh cleaning will lower those temps a bit :blah: .

EDIT: Now it peaks at 78c. Way better, I'm amazed it had that much effect.

It's been maybe 8 months since I've cleaned it properly-- my computer is filtered too. There was a fair bit in there, but nothing ludicrous, no cat hair or anything. Guess there was just enough of a coating to interfere with thermal transfer.

For reference, the card is a one-slot-thick model with a single centrifugal fan. Not the best cooling to start with.

A seasonal recipes book [£6, not too bad either]

Tomorrow I'll go buy D B Shan's Hell's Horizon and maybe Jack Williamson's Darker Than You Think.

AppleCare for my iMac. Runs out in three days... Thought I'd bought it last April, not March! Phew.

And some Ilford prints of some photos I took about 4 years ago.

Have one of these myself - awesome pieces of kit. If it does lock up (they can occasionally do this) hold the power button for 30 seconds - performs a hard reset. Only had to do this to mine once though.
