ok I have an e2140 cpu that was bunndled with an asrock 945gc motherboard I was planning to uses these in a home server power usage is a major factor is this ok ( with the right psu either a 120w pico psu or a fsp/seasonic 250w number ) or should I change for an atom setup

the system would be running WHS the only reason I want to use this motherboard is that it has 4 sata2 ports where as all atom motherboards only have two ( so far ) I wish to have the abbility to add a extra HD when nessesary

    thank you in advance

120W could be fine, but only if you used onboard graphics. It'd be pushing it a bit, though.

A PicoPSU doesn't even have an 8- or 4-pin CPU power connector, right?

the higher wattage ones do as it is reqired for some am2 and 775 mini-itx motherboards i have found a pico psu type that is 140w below is the amps and watts for the various voltages
as it would be running whs there would be little or no need for anything more powerful than the built in graphics card.

    12V
    7A
    84W

    5V
    6A
    30W

    3.3V
    6A
    20W

    5VSB
    1.5A
    7.5W

    -12V
    0.05A
    0.5W

    Permanent Power
    84W

    Combined Power
    142W

Might be pushing it really - can you underclock the CPU?

    +1 on underclocking.

E2xxx series CPUs have a TDP of 65W, that's already half of the PSU's capability.
