Case Mod - In Progress Q-vent 900 - winner MotM feb. - customPC article

    so, current status in gluein

    some better shots of the feet

    and bought some white delrin on ebay, yes, for no reason :p

    days ago i recieved my mdpc-x sleeve, heres what it looks like

    lasercut stuff arrived

    [​IMG]
    then i started making a cover for the front
    [​IMG]
    [​IMG]
    [​IMG]
    the same out of styrene
    [​IMG]
    then i made a cover for the plexi strip on the rad cover
    [​IMG]
    glued some aluminium foil in there and added some leds
    [​IMG]
    neat
    [​IMG]
    even more when you turn the shutter speed down :p

    since i had to remove the radiator to fit that thing in, well, was to bored, so these are the only shots ive taken

    lights off

    gotta remove some dust

    Man those laser cut plexi bits look great. I can't wait for this to be all together, it will look insane.

    the bottom part is almost done

    after that i disasembled the whole case to fit the led unit in, the result wasn as pleasing as i hoped :(

    even worse in complete darkness

    first coat of primer
    [​IMG]
    then i made a cover for the harddrive drawer
    [​IMG]
    then i started gluing the new front
    [​IMG]
    and another coat of primer...

    Dude, looks awesome. I really like you you are having the hoses and SATA cables run out of the case than back in, most people would have stealthed em, I like that.

    congrats on the win Herr Froop. I live in Germany as well and also do all my work in the cellar. mmmmm fumes and material dust.



    and my neighbours now hate me. Dremel on alu isn't noisy is it?

    hey,
    i still havent recieved my motm stuff *hinthinthint* but ill have an update for you guys

    and ive made a new cover for my modem and my router

    then i started with the top section

    its 15mm square aluminium, which isnt THAT cool to work with
    everything will be held togehter by m4 screws

    and some aluminium angles
    [​IMG]
    [​IMG]
    right under the removable top/vent sits the dvd drive
    [​IMG]
    [​IMG]

    so i swapped out the 20y/o main shop light

    with this one

    then i finished the frame, added some angles to the dvd drive and made the sidecovers
