For anyone that found the TV series Robot Wars totally inept at satisfying your childhood urges for giant robots beating the crap out of each other, help is at hand. For 1200 Xbox Live Arcade points, you could battle your own mechs in the awesomely arcdady world of Virtua On.

 

i remember playing this in the arcade with dual flight sticks, then hopping over to the newly release Time Crisis before hoping back over to this.

glad to hear it's a good version of the game. i used to play the first two so much back in the day.

 

I was just playing the first one a couple days back on my old Saturn, how odd.

I think this may finally push me over the edge to get a 360. It might just be time to give in...

Its always temjin, viper, and fei yen. Temjin and viper have special moves which the rest does not have. Fei yen gets stronger if the bar goes weaker.

 

sounds like it should have been a bit more than a 7, with only 1 negative point. but oh well, i'm so getting this. dreamcast version was crazy

I remember discovering that Viper had a special move, while fighting the boss of the game. It looked like I was hopelessly doomed to lose in another two seconds, but I took to the air, and came crashing down wreathed in flames for an epic turn around victory. It was such a turn-around, because we didn't believe there even were special moves in the game, so it was like a shift in reality. It was easily one of my best video game moments I've had

 

Nice article, aside from the bible comment. I'll look for this for Dreamcast.
