I have to agree somewhat. It's MY computer, not Googles, and not Microsofts (despite me running XP). I did 'Computer Science' at school back in the late 70's - early 80's when an OS was just that, an OS, nothing more, nothing less. (MS please listen). I've spent ages tweaking my Pc just to where I want it, lean and mean with all the crap put where it belongs. In the bin (No, not that stupid 'recycle bin'). And don't get me started on cloud computing or Gmail. It's MY data, I control it, so hands off! [/rant over]
How do you define an "OS" then? Do you mean DOS or something? It's possible to disable the Recycle Bin. I hate it too.
What's the problem with Windows? It does that, but it also adds stuff that actually make the OS usable, such as a GUI and an API. I don't mind them at all.
