I've played about 2 hours (yay for review copies) and yes, it's good. I'd buy it if I didn't have a free copy for certain.

It seems good but at home I use a CRT on my rig and I can't see hardly anything even with the in game gamma setting cranked all the way up, if anyone figures out what files hold the gamma values for a manual edit I would be most appreciative as it seemed enjoyable, simple fun.

Had a look at it, looks rather interesting so I may try a demo of it if one appears on Steam or some such.

It's getting fairly average reviews so giving it a miss.

I've been playing it a few hours now and love the mindless action and violence. There are plenty of things not to like, but it's the first time in several years that a game has made me laugh like a mad man for 10 minutes straight. Running 50 mph down the sidewalk smashing people aside like a (American) football player charging through a crowd of 5 year old kids made me giddy.

I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys mindless violence every once in a while. The "Web of Intrigue" adds to the story, but I can't give a full impression of that because I've only just started.

    Pros:
    Intense action
    Violence
Control. Free running is handled very well
It conveys a sense of power that no game has given me until now

    Cons:
    Repetitive side missions
Graphical pop-ups can be fairly visible sometimes

I like the violence control pro's you listed. I am dying for a good zombie based sandbox. Unless its another game i am thinking about.

I'm 5 hours into it though I think I'm nearing the end unless there's a plot twist or something..
    Gotta go get the sister
    .

Loving it so far, the freedom it gives is truly epic and the movement is incredibly fluid, very smooth, intense, and fast gameplay. The shapeshifting is also fantastic and LOADS of fun.

How are the controls, menus, configurability etc. PC-wise?
Was it well-ported or just 'good enough'?

And were you actually near the end after 5 hours? :eyebrow:

I burned through the main missions without doing anything else, got through it in about 9 hours. Really great storyline though, was quite a few twists I was not expecting. Truly enjoyable, and once you're done it switches to free roam and all the stuff you didn't do is still available plus some more modes added on.

There's a good 10-20 hours of side missions and stuff, all of which have 4 to 5 difficulty levels you can complete them on and stuff.

The controls are very fluid, I thought they would be laggy and slow as are most console/PC multiplat games, but nope, the controls work great, I did not have a single graphical/gamneplay glitch nor crash during the entire time I played.

The menu mouse was a bit laggy though, was weird, well, not laggy but sluggish, so I resorted to using the arrow keys, which works great.

It feels, looks, and plays like a polished native PC game, apart from the sluggish mouse in menu, but I've seen that in some other games. Very satisfied with it.

Good stuff, cheers for that. :)

It's been dropped from €60 to €50 (or €49.99) on Steam now, but I think I'll still wait for the price to come down a bit more before buying unless a demo can persuade me sooner

Co-op on the game would be epic.

Oh and also.. it's insane the amount of characters can be on the screen at the same time, at least 100+ without any visible lag, all doing their own actions, especially if it's near a hive, you can have civilians, infected, and military units all running around fighting each other and stuff, and you just powerglide in, and just blow everything sky high and FPS stay rock solid, no tearing, no clunkyness, just smooth, fluid movements and actions. :D

I spam the critical mass attacks a lot >.>

And.. Body surfing is awesome. You kick a target down and ride his corpse like a surfboard for a few seconds :hehe:
