Hamachi downloaded and installed on main PC, network name established and IP address alocated.
Hamachi installed on second PC, PC named, IP address alocated and joined the new network name that was established on main PC, just as descibed in issue 70 (Thanks saspro :thumb:)

Here's the question, when setting up a new client within Fahmon that is installed on the main PC, i have pointed it to the Hamachi IP address alocated on second PC, but is there a further path string that i need to include, like pointing directly to the folding folder on second PC?

The client shows a black square in fahmon and the hamatchi address has a \ at the end when editing the new client, indicating that the path is incorrect.:wallbash:

    Hope i explianed problem ok!

    Thanks Norfolk...

    Do you mean like \\{hamachi IP}\{sharename of work}

    eg \\hamachi IP\roaming\Folding@home-gpu\

Share the roaming folding in app date on the target machine (the one that's folding) then point like in my example

Just like Saspro said, share the Folding@Home folder in your AppData folder.

Keep it simple so its something like Fold so it would then be:

    \\hamachi IP\Fold\

I wouldn't really share your AppData or Roaming folder in fairness but to suite :)

I take it you're running Vista? I didn't catch your OS.

I only do it as my farms are dedicated machines, no other progs running & behind a firewall

    Gotcha Saspro!

I didn't mean to undermind you at all! I thought that if Norfolk shared the Folding folder, it would have been a little simpler and less to type.

    It is.
Although when you're running 4x GPU's per box it's easier to share the parent folder

You don't need hamachi then (unless the monitoring machine is in another building).
Have you run the sharing wizards?
Is "simple file sharing" turned off?
Can the machines see each other?
Do you have passwords on both PC's?

I'll try and pop on over the weekend as I've got a stag do & the grand prix

Sounds like the normal Vista/XP networking issues

Thanks for the help Saspro, it was as you say Vista/XP network issue, but they are BFF now. Hamachi not needed now for me so uninstalled.
