Sorry for lack of updates, i have been horribly busy.
I have built my own audio amp in the time between working on this huge ass thing.

Anyway, moved along a bit since the last update.

    I recieved a 1000watt dell PSU, bought a new Phenom II 955, and a 4870x2!
Also upgraded to 64 bit, and 8 gig of ram.
I have also snapped the plastic amd mounting frame due to excess pressure, so i have remade
    it in aluminum.
Also added a few more cooling blocks to a variety of other things i have found that get hot.

So here are new table breaking pics of my new cooling setup.
I feel the pvc "nodes" are a bit more organic looking.

I have tracked down some non uv reactive smoke perspex for the sides, and getting sponsored by a company in brisbane here.
That, and mounting the UV CCFL's.

OMG, are those OCZ Reapers that have had the top part of the heatpipe hacked off??? That is such a cool idea.

Im afraid not, the heatpipes are in a U shape, one half inserted into the ramsink, the other half installed in the heatsink.

I had to cut them off, and drill them out, and replace them with aluminium pipes glued in with epoxy, otherwise the coolant wouldn't have flowed through.

It would have been nice if the heatpipes went all the way through, and i could have used them as the actual coolant channels.

    It was in the plan!
I just ran out of room to mount the bloody things.

They are in the exhaust path from the radiator though, and even though the boot drive is now a 10000rpm drive, they only get barely warm.

Dont get me started on that. I made 16 copper hard drive brackets before i realise i had no damn room for them.

    Another update.
I put some fine fiberglass mesh on the front of the machine, it will help keep the damn cat hair out of the fans, and provide a bit of a uniform front of the machine.

Its held there by being clamped between the case and aluminium strip screwed down every 10 centimeters.

It doesnt look great with the flash, so here is what it looks like in the normal light.

I am thinking about putting more screws in because the mesh is fairly lose in the middle between the screw points.
    That, or glue.

There is also the option of changing to any other kind of mesh that i can locate, as well as the possibility of using alumium insect screen mesh as its a bit stiffer.

    Update:
Just finished a prototype temperature controller that measures the difference between ambient and coolant temp, and runs the radiator fans to keep the difference down.

Very simple, using two thermistors, an op-amp, and a mosfet.
The circuit has variable resistors that can vary the gap between the ambient and wanted temperature, and gain control that adjust how fast the fans speed up to reduce the difference.

The fan is controlled linearily, so no funky PWM here. Wouldnt be that hard to implement, but for now, its just going to be a linear control. There are 4 fans to control, so if the mosfet gets really hot, i may just watercool it...

    hehehe
