I really love this mod, but one thing I would change though is that fan on the heatsink... why not replacing it with one other of those aluminium beauties...:naughty:

I do have one question: Which shows will this be shown at? I'd love to get a peak at it in person...

    Nice

That is a nice case. I'm just wondering, you said that you had other things you wanted to add, what were they? I wonder if intel will let you keep the chip? Anyway I can't wait for that case to come to a tech show near me. GoodJob Guys!

Congratulations on a job well done. Its nice to see a group effort go from concept to finished product. I do have a few questions:

    1. How sturdy is the case in terms of weight? For example if someone leaned on the top panel how secure is the structure?

    2. I think I may have missed it in the article but joining the top and bottle panels is accomplished by screws or acrylic glue?

    3. Which Bit-Tech member gets to keep the case once Intel is finished with it?

    1. Very sturdy - I was designed to be toured around the World.

    2. Screws. (in the article but easily missed). ;)

Because we wanted to use the stock heatstink Intel gave us, as it was an Intel box...we were very tempted to go with a nice silver heatsink tho!!

We're not entirely sure yet, though it will be at the UK Gaming Masters championship.

We definitely wanted to do some more funky modding things. We had plans to round all the corners and light them, and use luxeon leds to spotlight the cpu, as well as maybe underlight the motherboard and give a traditional roswell effect to it...only using an array of 100 leds embedded into the plastic :D Unfortunately, time constraints prevented these...

Pretty simple really..you know how you push an led into a holder and it stays there, firm? well, push it in, but not all the way. That way, it will move backwards and forwards in the holder easily. Mount the drive behind the led, so that the back of the led (with the legs chopped off, obviously) lines up with the eject button, and hey presto!

In the bottom half, the airflow is pretty bad...everything is so tightly packed in that the intake has a lot of work to do. At the top, it works pretty well - the cpu is at about 34 idle.

great case, though i have some questions about routing acrylic..

could u use cutting oil instead of water?
or would the residue be to hard to remove

also i assume that if you had access to a milling machine that could be used in place of the router

any info would be appricated cus i have several mods planned which needs fairly accuratly machined acrylic

    BitTech

    Hey,

Just wanted to say what a wicked site you have, I was glad to find a UK flavoured site for modding PC's.

Your Project 3G is impressive and deffinitely one to emulate, seriously have you guy's thought about making money out of this, I mean selling designer cases for people? (just a thought).

    Thanks,

I really hate to say this for fear of being lynched, but I'm not a fan of the look of this case. Don't get me wrong, it's excellently constructed and very well thought out, just not my cup of tea. Give me linear's clear cube anyday :p
