Aye, my first of what I hope to be many posts on these boards. After reading through the reviews and tutorials on this site, as well as many threads on these forums, I think I can trust your artistic/technical advice With that said, on with the modding! Coolermaster ATC-201 is my current case (seen @ http://www.brinked.com/mod-merlin.jpg). My first and only mod, so far, was replacing the 4 stock CM fans with 4 quad LED green ones, as well as dremelling out a window and a portrait of Gohan from DBZ (yeh, say what you will ). I'll be getting 2 blue SunbeamTech cold cathodes in this week, and will probably be putting the switch inside the little USB "cabinet", as seen illuminated by the fans in the lower left hand corner on the front of my case. I plan on making/installing a 5 switch, 7v/off/12v baybus as well -- a question; is there a way to have 5 switches (on/off) with a rheobus knob to control the fan speed of all the fans that are being powered? /end thought Feel free to start throwing out suggestions for mods-to-come, as well as creating baybus' -- I'm very open to ideas, thanks! *Copy/paste the link, sorry ;x *edit* 2 blue SunbeamTech cold cathodes http://brinked.com/P1010042.JPG
Yes, it looks that way in real life. The green is much deeper as well.. my sister's digicam sucks -_-
Re: /me attempts modding i think if you ran 5 fans off of a typical rheostat, you would fry it. something like the voltage regulators might work better instead. some of those handle higher amps. what is the total wattage of the fans you want to power? the rheobus one in this article handles 17 watts http://www.bit-tech.net/article/41/ but this voltage regulator version seems more reliable http://www.bit-tech.net/article/32/
i built a voltage reg version with th aid of my bro... but instead of having a reg and pot for each fan we used those to supply th voltage to 4 dpdt switches .. seems to work quite well aprt from th stall voltages vary on my fans so one or two run a little faster than i would like them to but any noise of those is drowned out but my hard drive
