Hi all I've got an Antec 300 and cable management is somewhat lacking. I closed the case only slightly cleaner than this http://i43.tinypic.com/fnviaq.jpg I've got a modular PSU, but I found that the 2 PCIE connectors + the video card were causing a lot of congestion and I couldn't figure my way out of it neatly. I think this is adversely affecting my temps too Anyone have any tips/advice with regards to this case? Thanks
route cables behind the motherboard for a start, and along the edges of the case. get some of those sticky-backed hooks to hold the cables out of the way. honestly, it doesn't even look as though you've tried to do any cable management with that. my 300 looks better and i know i haven't tried.
I've routed all my cables behind the mobo-tray and on the right-side (viewed from the front) of the HDD-tray. No cables crossing the motherboard or blocking airflow. It's pretty easy to do in this case actually.
These were before pics (although the after pics weren't much of an improvement...) Any chance of seeing some images? Thanks
via google... And there's lots more... The case is designed to cram the cables there on the side of the HDD-tray.
Reading post's for losers. Nonetheless, hide it. I cable tidied my Nine Hundred with just a 12v drill and a hacksaw, dremmel would have been might useful. It was a tight squeeze getting the 8 pin between the mobo and the top of the case but it worked. You would not like to see my PC in anything smaller than a Lian-li V1100, there's a reason I have a big case.
when i had my 300 it was relatively clean despite what i had crammed in it. E8400 with Xigmatek 1283 HSF E-VGA 9800GX2 Corsair TX-750 DVD Burner 4x750GB HDD 3ware Raid Card Matrix orbital Typhoon GX
try this Just to the right of the psu below the motherboard make a rectangular whole big enough for all the cables to pass through then make another adjacent to the 24 pin connector . You should be able to pass your 24 connector through along with your pci cables and the sata cables for the opitcal drive . Also just above the 4pin/8pin connector by the hsf make another hole , you can route your fan cables out this way and run the 4pin/8pin connector in up the back of the motherboard tray . If you really want to be picky drop your optical drive down in to the middle drive bay , on the top right push through one of the tabs and cut off , slip a grommet in there and you can pass your power/reset and usb audio cables through down and through the whole you cut out for the psu cables to go through originally .
About Antec300, there is place to put additional fans. What is the length in mm for the depth for the fans, to be able to fit in there?
Hey mates, is there any way to fit a 360 radiator INSIDE of Antec 300, maybe if removing the optical drive, and then fit it there, because I don't want to have an outside mounted radiator on a Lanparty, you know how some people are
you could totally fit it in the front if you ripped out all the hard drive and optical cages and attacked a bit more stuff with a . other than that, not really though. there isn't enough clearance between the top of the mobo and the top panel for a rad.
Yes, A 360-radiator will fit in the case. As notatoad said allready, you can actually fit it behind the front-panel with some minor modifications. The only thing you have to do is to do away with the HDD-cage and some of the front, like marked in the pictures. The HDD's can be placed in the cage for the optical drives. Only 3 HDDs maximum, but that should be enough.
I've often wondered if you could do 2x HDD and say 2 laptop DVD burners? You'd have to make a shim to go between the 5.25 inch bay and the (5 inch?) lappy drives... but that shouldn't be too hard.
