I've found a deal in the interweb, one of those "to good to be true".

The company seems to offer all sorts of things, financial services and computer parts.

One the parts is very cheap
A case that retails for £160 in scan is listed as £69, I think the forgot the 1 and should be £169, or they got a real bargain there.

While checking the company out I've found the address and seems to be OK.
The company has posted tax listing for a few years and seems to be legit-ish

I was going to get it on my credit card and hope to be covered by the credit act.
Either the price is right and I get a baragin, the price is wrong and the order gets cancled, or the company is just ropey and didn't have the deal for what ever reason. The worst case is they are bogus and I have to get my money back through the credit card.

    What do you folks think?

id give it a chance if your moneys protected by the credit card

even if they fecked up and put the number is up wrong, if they except the payment they have to send it out. they mightnt even realise it was wrong.

could just b a really good deal.

whats the worst can happen? haha famous last words

Only do it if you're prepared to lose the 69 quid tbh.

All to often the reason something seems too good is becasuse it is, however if we didn't take a chance every once in a while we wouldn't get anywhere. If you can take the hit should it go wrong then its worth a punt.

All I can say is listen to you're inner voice, go with what he/she/it tells you.

call / e-mail the company and ask them to verify the price? Sure you may get a deal, but what if you find the difference charged to your credit card? Save yourself the hassle. You may lose a deal, or you may save yourself a ton of time.

    I've done it.

My credit card has been billed the right amount, the order get processed some time Tuseday.

I guess I'll know Tuesday evening.
TBH, I'm not in a rush.
I can take the hit if needs be, but I'm only doing it because it's a silly offer.
everything else on the site as about the right price.

I'd only do it with a credit card. Covered by the consumer credit act.

So looks like I get one of 4 results.

new case - one I wanted at 1/2 price
new case- wrong one, returned for refund under sales of goods act
Card refund - company realises the mistake and stops sale
Card refund - Fraud, Credit card company covers the cost

As soon as it's done I'll let you know the full details.

    TBH.
if the deal goes ahead, I might take a punt on another pair.
    I'd gambling £165 for 2 inc shipping
they go for £140 + shipping on ebay
I could be looking at the thick end of £100 for 1/2 and hours work......

yeh, as soon as links get posted, and people start ordering millions of them, the company realises the mistake and ups the price, or cancels the orders.

Same thing happeneed on CPC when Play were selling a GTX295 or 285 or some high end graphics card for about £90 or something silly like that. Everyone started ordering 6 or more and then I think only 1 person actually received their order.

Well, no point ordering one if you get the wrong thing, so I'll let you know what I get
But as you said, if they suddenly get loads of hits for 1 item, they may just stop it

as soon as it arrives (or gets stopped) I'll give you all the details

Well afetr 3 days of limbo.

The payment has finally been taken.

It was cleared for £91, but was classed as pending transaction (first time I've used the online credit card managment system)

In theory they only accept it when it ships.

No email saying it has shipped yet.

    I'll keep you posted.

It's not CCK, is it? They'll rip you off something rotten. Waiting for any word on a motherboard refund - an Asus P6T Deluxe, to be precise. Paid £240ish in December, nothing yet. And this despite my family having a law office who hassle like there's no tomorrow.

    this is the offer.

I've spoken to the guy a few times and he's said the same thing, he cant get them until he has enough orders.

Anyway, He reacons he'll ship early next week.

Like I said, I paid by credit card, so I'm covered under the consumer credit act.

my well be a risky punt, if there is not case by the end next week I'll be getting a refund or contacting my credit card. But it may well be a bargain.

If your refering to me being spam, than I'm not.
Why would I point you to a deal and then say it was a possible risk.

Sometimes you see an offer and think it's worth it.

I checked the company details, they've been trading for 6 years, so they're not a new company.

    I took a risk, it's that simple.

It's been 2 weeks, I've been told they cant get it yet and been offered a refund.
I decided to wait another week.

They've told me thay cant get it until they have enough orders, seemed honest about it.

There are more well known companies who are harder to deal with (OCUK)

If it's based in Dubai - it's all about tax, blatantly.
