Right, an unfortunate but important update. Its a very long story but I am not a "friend" of the lan organiser and he is a bit of a "child" we shall say. He has got wind of my intention to attend a lan he is organising in august and has made quick and dirty attempts which mean I cannot go. On the positive side this means that the project no longer has to "be done" by a certain date, meaning I can take my time and get everything perfect. It also means I can do some of my more advanced ideas and have plenty of time to tweak and perfect the mods. Regards all, hopefully this will make the end result that bit better.
Just got the window filed down properly. Still going to be using rubber edging but I have ordered at the massive cost of £2.80 (lol) a peice of A4 tinted plexi: Here is the window cut finished:
I got another bunch of dye from mayhem this stuff IS REALLY STRONG. 10 drops of it in half a litre is ALOT of dye but it is exactly the kind of red I want, Will probably light it with an white LED.
Hmm bit of a problem guys. This amount of dye is staining the actual clear plexi of the res and is so strong is actually will gum up the pins of my waterblock. Going to pick up a primochill dye bomb in blood red instead.
You should do some research before you buy it. This is how my waterblock looked after I used a primochill dye bomb. keep up the good work
Ouch, is that because of algae or just the dye? I am gonna be sticking a killcoil in there but if the dye itself does that then I might just use distilled water and light it with a red led.
I think all the fluids ending up doing that to be honest. feser, primochill, they all leave gunk in your system. cant be avoided really :/
Where is the fail? I didn't see any this far Good work man, keep it up. Also, Nice color, red Cheesecake
Ok, Looks like pure distilled water + killcoil with a red LED in the reservoir. Thats that descision finished .
Well I am back from my break in aberdeen! Got my sheet of 3mm tinted plexi- looks lovely and yes, that is my fat self in the picture Everything looks pretty good, not perfect but if I wanted perfection I would have sent the panel to Tom @ CPC for a CNC job. Tomorow or Wednesday the case frame should be back from powdercoating, and on Wednesday my school exam results are back
Well my window panel is pretty much finished: Masked and sprayed the edges (should have done this pre-plexi lol) And it now looks much much better Got my Radiator Grill and Dust filters today: Grill installed, no fan yet (bloody local couriers ) Modded front panel wires, no need for audio or firewire *SNIP* And the complete top:
Nice work on getting the edges sprayed. I wouldn't trust my masking to prevent bleed/underspray onto the anodized panel and ruin the gorgeous finish. I just use a Sharpie (which actually works quite well!)
Well big news! Case back from powdercoat! It is absolutely beautiful. Chilledpc Delivaaarrrs! And the case- gorgeous! Tell me it doesn't make you jizz And the first of 5 yates sleeving! And final progress pics outside with a camera rest, enjoy!:
