Following the advice on this thread. I got a new Jetway MOBO and plugged two different power supplies into it, but nothing appears on the screen when I power it on. The new MOBO uses an 8 pin CPU connector, but I only have a 4 pin. According to the internets, this should still work if I don't use to much power.

All I can see is an led marked pp_led3 lighting up. I don't know what that means.

Here are my components I'm using:
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    DDR2 800 Ram
    Jetway Motherboard

    pls help.

you're using the onboard video? HDMI or VGA? is there a jumper you have to change to swap from one to the other?

As far as I can tell No. I've tried both HDMI and VGA w/o luck.

However, following a troubleshooting guide online, I unplugged all the ram and tried booting it bare: same result with ram and without - led3 is lit. I tried a stick of ram from another comp and got the same result. Either I really do need 8 pin power for the MOBO (the guide seems to indicate I don't need any at all unless I got a lot of stuff plugged in) or the MOBO is DOA.

I tried my friends PSU with an 8-pin ATX connector. No luck: pp_led3 is lit - no output to screen.

Should I go ahead and RMA this board?

I tried an external card. The screen remains dark but now the top half flickers sporadically.

    Just a couple quick things.

Have you tried a cmos clear?
It is the onboard graphics you are using yes?
Are the power wires etc from the case correctly plugged into the correct pins on the motherboad as will be shown in your motherboards manual?
What noises do you hear when you turn the system on, are the fans spinning etc?
