why don't the build up instead of out? every single standard tower case has lots of space above the card...

Oh good, they're almost up to full length now, where the cards will have that metal wing on the back so they don't rip the slot apart.

CM 690 fits it quite easily, still maybe 2" between the end and the hard drive cage

It will be a better fit with my case than it will be with my wallet.

Wonder what the energy usage will be, I'm suspecting you may be able to cancel your gas and central heating and just run this 24/7 :thumb:

    You got boyed :hehe:

It should be quite a bit lower than the 4870 X2.

ah this reminds me of a story of my somehow pentium d rig ended up with a q9550 (prior to i7 release what a waste)

at first i was running an old d820 rig @ 2.8 ghz stock on an ancient ga-vm900m board.

so i bought a 4850 (quite a while ago) and i had massive bottleneck with 20 fps in cod4 at lowest settings >.<

and so i had to buy a new cpu q9550

to find that my motherboard doesnt support a q9550

so i had to buy a new motherboard

    and~

my new motherboard supported sata only with a max of 2 ide drives....

    bye bye dvd-rom

bought a new blu ray rom +1 sata >.<

and then.... i didn't have enough space for games on the harddrives

so i bought a new 1tb harddrive singing woohoo allt he way home

tried to install it and my 4850 was smacking it to holyhell

and i ended up with having to buy a cm 690....

lesson for all to learn - sometimes upgrading one part may end up with you having a brand new rig........... this is one hell of a long card so check your case space and if your cpu can handle it before all hell breaks lose on your wallet.

(prices of pc parts in malaysia is hell considering a new 5870 costs RM 2,000 when the minimum wage is RM 750 average earning is RM 1,500 - RM 2,000 and petrol costs could easily go up to 300-400 bucks per month on average usage and that's not including home overhead costs) just wanted to say that xD i hate the monetary system here..... only 3 more months to scotland! whee
