Hi, my first project log at Bit.Tech. :D

The project is going to be rather quicly done, depending on the when the hardware arrives, but hopefully finnished already during the weekend.

The name reflects the simple fact that the hardware form what AMD/ATI calles the Dragon Platform.

The project is focused on watercooling my new workstation/gaming rig, with the necessarry monitoring and control devices all into my case. In other words, how to fit it all within my tower. So some casemodding, but it is mostly about watercooling.

EDIT 02.12.2009. My first sponsor. Aquacomputer is giving me a nice rebate on my last order. Thanks!

    So, down to business.

The case wat stripped, also for most of its interior:

Then the new top cover was market and modded to fit the thermochill PA 120.3, the filter and the Aquatube:

Then I started to mount the 2 Poweradjust used to controll the pumps. Also theese are watercooled! I nice feature here, is the placement of the flowsensor, that actually removes a kinky bend in the loop ...

    This was all for now.

Great work buddy, looking forward to the next update. What about cutting those cables to the necessary lenghts and sleeving them? I am truly envious of that copper tank of yours ;)

    Thanks ...

No I cool the two Poweradjusts, but the front bezels are from aquastream ... this may seem confusing, but they are black, they fit, and is the only black bezels availeable.

    Overkill to watercool them? Absolutely!

Cutting and sleeving the cables? Not worth the efforts i beleive, they will be hidden in the end anyway ... but all visible cables will be sleeved in the end.

And the tank is absolutely wonderful, but heavy!

Forgot to show you the waterblocks on the Poweradjust.

I was asked above wheter this is overkill, and my answer was: Absolutely!
This is not entirely true, since they get rather hot. But I like the idea of complete watercooling ...

As I also mentioned above, the pumps are modded from 10w to 18w. This is a simple mod, just connecting to spots on the pumps pcb.

First a pic of the disassembled pumps.

Then a picture after the mod.

And finally the pumps assembled with the dualtop

loving it already, cant help but think some black socket heads + washers would make those drive bay panels look alot better.

Have thought of getting black washers and bolts, but as I cant get all the dimetions I need in black, I stay with them as they are.

I have also learned to apreaciate the industrial look they give ...

A little progress here, the postman didt show, but the tracking tell me that tomorrow ...

    Anyway, som more pics.

First a little cutting in the cab, next to where to mobo will be for cable management. The idea is to hide most cables.

Then a shot of the aquatube and the filter from beneeth. It is not much space left ...

Then I mounted my card reader, and the two SSDs. The drives where mounted in two 3,5 adapters, and these was then glued to the Lian Li 3,5 to 5,25 mounting bay, where the card reader sits.

Nothing better than Lian-Li and Aquacomputer. I'm waiting to see if a horizontal filter works any better than a vertical setup. Looks good and I especially liked your use of the AC flow meter. :D

Added: There is a definite intake and output to the AC Filter. See this thread for details.

The postman did ring my bell 0830! With a package full of hardware from a friend, including the second Sapphire 4890 Toxic and the AMD PII X4 965BE 3,4GHz. So then I am in business and can finnish during the weekend ...

A little more work on the project was done during the day so far.

Started by mounting the BD-DVD R/W player

Then the LIan Li cover for this

Then I mounted two more radiators

Next I am going to work on some special cabling for the control units. It is so thigth up there that I need a special cable with 4 molex, which then is attached to the psu molex. This also gives me freedom with regard to changing PSU without to much trouble (especially clever since I am starting with a temporary PSU)

There are no words for how awesome this is.

If that is any indication of how the rest of this mod will progress, I'm keeping a close eye on it!

Not really. Its marked on the filter unit, and mounted horisontally it only makes sense, if one wants to get rid of trapped air ...
