Is it just me or does that PC look like a direct copy of everything Charles H has done for the last 18 months?

I've even seen that frontplate render in another forum he did for a concept build last year. . .

Well I guess it's the best form of praise

As far as I'm aware, work started on these PCs before Cypress silicon had even come back from the fabs - it isn't as simple as just slapping the new cards in and calling it a day. I'm sure Beast (and the other manufacturers) could offer an upgraded graphics subsystem once proper waterblocks are available for the 5800 series.

EK 5870 blocks were available last Friday here in the US.

Edit: and yes logan, this does remind me of a murdermod

they could have at least made the video in HD :p

Goodlooking PC though, i agree, Triple SLI is just not "it" anymore now that the 5870 is here.
I also have my questions about the choice for Corsair SSDs. I fully believe the claims for transfer rates, but arent the Intels supposed to be miles and miles ahead?

    I like it.

Its a good looking pc but its not a winner, I am impressed at how tidy it looks but I would love to see all the entries now (especially scans).

The video was shot in HD - but unfortunately bit-tech currently doesn't support Youtube HD right now.

indeed. if anything, id say the cerberus is in fact utterly devoid of innovation. everything i see seems to be a straight murdermod clone, or a murdermod clone implemented badly.

Whatever you may compare it too - that thing is pretty damned good-looking.

I think it reeks of murderbox too, but hey, it does look very very pretty.

I know... but they weren't available 4 or 5 months ago when work started on these machines. We also had to have a cut off point by which point the PCs had to be with us ready to be fully tested - that was before the 5870 launched. If we didn't have a cut off, the machines would never get to us to actually write the feature.

Think of your electricity bills, and the impact on the environment with the numerous bad effects of mining coal, burning it, and storing the toxic waste of coal or nuclear fuel.

@quake1: I hope that comment was facetious, as there are actually no real disadvantages to nuclear. However, it will be able to do tasks faster, so remain switched on for less time. Running my modern machine is a lot more eco-friendly than running the 8 or so 10 year old machines that would be needed to achieve even close to the power. Besides, all the waste heat goes into the room, making a powerful machine an ideal replacement for a heater. It is also one good looking machine.

    Out of your mind

    5449 British pounds = 8 692.2448 U.S. dollars (*google)

You are out of your mind if your paying that much for a PC. I built the same setup for a fraction of that cost. If you know what the parts are, and know enough about computers to be looking at this, there's no way that anyone should purchase such a ridiculously over price PC.

Yes it looks great and hat's off to the maker, but not worth anywhere that much money.

I am sad to see the whole front-page article only contains a single image, and a low resolution video.
Can we have some more hi-res shots of that thing?
Looks cool, but we gotta see it nakkid!
