So I went back to the house im renting for college today and brought my computer like always. I hooked it up and turned it on but it made no beep noise and nothing showed up on my screen.

I think the motherboard might be broken because it didn't make any beep noise. All my hardware gets powered on and stuff.

    Is it the motherboard?

Please help me so I can quickly order any new parts I will need.

Incase you might ask I have tried unplugging GPU, Sound Card, HDDs, DVD, RAM. No change.

Motherboard lights are on but no beep noises from it at all.

    thanks

Sounds like the motherboard - same thing happened to my P6T last week. Sent it back to Novatech and it turned out to be the motherboard. Fans spin up, drives power on but no beep or an further activity.

Sometimes it can be something as simple as the fuse in the plug, I have had this happen a few times. To this day I'm unsure as to what causes it but seems to a common problem given that it has happened to me 3 times

I would however like to know why the above does happen to the power cable plug?

Personally the first thing I always check is the PSU... You might be getting enough to power lights etc but not enough juice to actually power the PC up correctly.

Have you got a spare PSU you could connect up to check?

seems stupid to ask, but have you checked the power cables to the motherboard?

I have similar problem. XP machine, that first powered off without warning a few times after different periods of normal running, now won't boot. Fans turn but no HDD activity, DVD drives wont open either and of course no display. Will keep you posted on any progress.

Have heard can still be PSU - different components draw different voltages. A faulty PSU won't necessarily stop working altogether.
