I overclocked my 920 to between 3.5 and 3.8GHZ experimenting.

I played Crysis @ 1600x900 on very high settings and it was running between 25 and 30fps. Mainly 25fps.

Far Cry 2 was running at between 40 and 60fps but was more the 40 end.

I've dropped my CPU back down to stock and now Crysis is running at a steady 30fps and Far Cry 60fps and sometimes over.

Temps were fine and I don't think the CPU was throttling.

Card has been clocked at 930/1010 throughout.

Why are they running faster at stock CPU speed?

Your CPU overclock was probably unstable.

Low frame rates aren't really a sign of an unstable CPU overclock. What are your GPU temps after a prolonged period of gaming?

I'll have to try and check. They drop so fast when I tab to desktop or quit the game.

lol I think I may have found the holy grail to faster frame rates. :)

If you don't have a second monitor to display temps on, try playing in a window with the temperature monitors sitting beside/behind the game window.
That'll give you more accurate readings by eliminating the chance for temps to drop while alt-tabbing.

It depends what program you use. HWMonitor and Rivatuner both record the maximum temperature the GPU reaches IIRC.

Far Cry 2: GPU hovers around 61 to 64 degrees at both stock and overclocked.

Crysis: GPU hovers around 66 degrees at both stock and overclocked.

Frame rates improve marginally when over clocked so I might drop it back to stock speeds.
