Anyone else used Office 2010 Beta yet.

Tried it today and thought....WHAT A MESS!

The bars at the top are jumbled and messy.

Uninstalled it 4hrs later and reinstalled Office Standard 2003 and Office H&S 2007 (Different Machines) again.

Sorry to say i prefere the older interfaces.

And yes i know its a beta before i get flamed.

Is it much improved over 2007? Not sure I can be bothered to upgrade before final release unless there is much of a change?

    worth the upgrade?

I was wondering if anyone felt it would be worth the upgrade. I preordered Win7 because the RC was soooo much better than Vista. Is there that much difference between Office07 and Office10?

It's 2007 but with Aero basically.

They need to fix the installation which basically locked up my PC for 10 minutes, but it's very very nippy to load Word. It literally takes less than second to load word and excel! I'm very impressed.

They've bought back the file menu - one of the biggest complaints about 07 was that people didnt know where the file menu was for save/opening (I know, the general public are ****ing idiots).

Bob, the Ribbon is exactly the same as 07. (and we don't allow size= in signatures unless it's "1", thanks).

    Sounds good to me.
Working with Exchange I'm kinda ashamed I haven't installed it sooner but I'm waiting to re-install Windows on this box before I use up my TechNet licence.

The website does make Office 2010 look quite nice

But I've just got 2007, and as it can properly handle the .x files (e.g., .docx) I'm sure I'll be fine for a few years ;) We regularly get people in at work with Office 2000 used daily, and we are still asked to put it on new machines from time to time.

I'm not seeing how the interface is all that different from 2007 :eyebrow:

I'm still amazed at how quickly everything loads.

Uninstalled 07, downloaded, installed it, looked at it, can't really make an opinion until I have to actually use it for something.

    Hey,

I want to try this out on my netbook, but the installer seems to try and extract everything to the C: drive first - problem is, I don't have enough free space! Is there anyway to install directly from the USB drive to the SD card where I want it to install?

    Cheers,

    Su
