Awesome entries guys! They all look great!

(I do find myself particularly amused at the Crank DVD Xtra!)

    Thanks John :)

It's gonna sit on 4 legs. Even though they won't be very high, the whole thing will be about 1cm off the ground, which is enough to get some grip and pick it up as a whole. It's not likely to be a very light thing mind you, so a handle would require a lot of extra structure to make sure you dont just rip it open :eeek:
I'll likely build a travelcase to go with it, i'm going to visit a lot of LANs with it :D
Hehe, well i needed a DVD label to drive home the point that it's a DVD, and not a fan or a round ornament of some kind. Plus, Crank is awesome :D

I'm loving this design, what do you think the components are made off? Is that wood, plastic or alu? I can see the acrylic, but what about the rest?

logan'srun, thanks, most of it is made of wood, there are some small parts that are in alu though. :)

Lol, don't listen to Cheaps. Crank is an awesome movie. Has Jason Statham made a bad movie, I think not!

    Wrong! :p

Can't say I like how you want to solder the riser cards to the back of the board Xtra, but otherwise - looks cool!

Oooh that movie does look bad on an epic scale...
I'd also like to add that i hated Crank 2. It took the delicious lunacy from Crank to such stupid levels that it ceased to work.

And about the risercards, i have moved the soldering to plan B actually. Plan A is now to just get really long risercards (yes they do exist).

I think I'll have to drop out... have been under a ton of work lately, maybe I'll finish it and post it later. But for sure won't be done by the deadline... Sorry mates. Good luck to all still in.
