Why are they unable to tell us Steam data as a % of sales ?

and what is the split between 360 and PC (even just for retail) ?

I presume the steam amount doesnt change the overall total that much.. which means retail sales are still King (by a long way ?)

If they want to promote the Steam platform as a sales channel, then they need to release the data ????

id prefer it id they didnt work on l4d3, everyone has gone a bit zombie mad as of late, need to give the genre a breather before it becomes stagnant.

Doubt it, I imagine they haven't release Steam sales because it's doing brilliantly. They're keeping schtum because they don't want to quantify just how much money it makes them.

I imagine Steam sales are about 50% of units for something like this.

Cor, I reckon Steam has accounted for well over 70% of sales, and I bet more than 90% are for PC. I suspect 360 sales will increase as we approach xmas, as it'll probably be a popular present.

Although it was possible to pick up L4D2 for about £16.something iif you got a 4-pack in the Steam sale, I'm waiting for it to drop under £15 before I buy - I made the mistake of paying £26.99 for L4D1 and although I got maybe 75 hours out of it, considering I paid £24.99 for the Orange Box which includes TF2 (which I've had 350+ hrs playtime) I think I paid a bit too much. Come on Valve, drop it to £15! :D

Nice to know it is selling well, after purchasing it, mainly coz this means extra content will be mandatory to valve (so boycotters say what?)

Mm I the only one that is kinda disapointed by L4D2? I think it's much less the fun the first was. Not that it is a bad game, I just found the first one way better. The first one was more of a horror game, this one is like FP "Shoot them up"

I just bough the first one last Sunday for 7.49e. I'll wait for the sales after Christmas to get L4D2.

Personally I won't be buying it, or at least not until it goes on sale for 10$. That's what the new content is worth imho.

I'd wager the overwhelming majority (90+%?) of those retail sales are for the 360.

The PC platform is still going strong, but it's essentially all but dead in regards to retail sales.

    Have to agree.

Though i'd really like to know the PC/360 split of sales as it'd be interesting.
Going from what i've seen personally (my group and my younger brother's group of friends) it does seem to be a 50/50 split, with none of the PC players buying at retail.

Got it for £20 in a four pack, well worth it IMO. Need to stop playing MW2 though and give it some attention.
