Is this for real, you couldn't OC your Q6600 so you went and bought a whole load of other kit.

Please go and read some guides on the basics of overclocking.

Overclocking is not an exact science, and the results one person gets won't be the same results you can get.
It requires patience and an understanding of how the hardware works.

    nope lad :))
the p5b board wasnt quite good..
i had enough of it. i bought a new stuff.. i had a little money for it. i didnt spent a lot of money to it.

now i just wanted to ask the basics of the memory timing of this ram to get an 1600mhz result.

now im running the stuff at 3.0ghz. it seems to be stable. but ratio dram:fsb is still 12:10
heat at 5minute prime load is 47celsius.

    well solved.
i just set the fsb to 400.
after 1 hour errorless 100% prime test. temp: 50celsius.
    1:1 with the ram.
please check the everest-cpuz-prime, and tell your opinion.

tbh you just wasted your money. With a little time and effort the old hardware could have been overclocked.

Well you seem to be happy

i spent about 100bucks to the upgrade.

prime95 ran all night long and now its stable at 3.6ghz dram:cpu 1:1 55celsius.
i think it worth the price.

btw i tought its a "helper" forum. i asked an overclock question, you came and abuse me...
    thanks.......

It is, what you did though, was take the advice, ignore it, decide it can't be done, and go and replace a whole bunch of kit.

    There's a thing called perseverance...

    you missunderstand me :)

i bought a new stuff, because i had a very very good offer. like i wrote.
    from q6600 to q9400, from p5b to p5k3 deluxe, from 2x1g geil ultra 800mhz to 2x2g ocz xtc platinum 1600, from a bad 8800gts to a gts250. and i payed not more than $100.
what would you do? ignore it? :)
last year april, my 8800gts went crazy. i waited. and this is the result.
    i think THIS is perseverance.

and the stuff goes stable at 3.6ghz front of q6600@2.4ghz.
