I'm planning a self build unit. I've got some land around the house so have room for a 2.5 to 3.5 KW unit on a 4.8 m mast. The mast will be hidden from the house and I'll get it manufactured localy, the head unit and blades I was looking at bringing in from China, which is generaly (even after freight and landing taxes) about 40% off the UK price. The grid tied inverter I'll get in the UK. Happy to share the websites / info if it's of intrest which covers smaller, strap on your chimney, type of units through to 5 KW turbines.

Hi Mad_Dog, am Interested in the unit you are bringing in from China, I have already got a 60ft mast in the garden with full planning permission,:thumb: I also have a 2.2Kw petrol generator that I used to use on field day radio trips but of course thats not so eco-friendly, and expensive to run also interested in the other sites mentioned

my pre payment meter list was 650 for 3 months (£210 per month) seems a lot to me due to the Npower home power meter is not showing i use that much i have to be using 3-4kw all day (i do not most of the time its 1.9KW/h), day avg is about £4-5 an day that should work out at 160 an month witch it is not moving to an quarter billing so new meter

i got an place to run 3-4 of my GPUs so that remove about £50 of my monthly bill on top of that i am going over to business N power so that nook 2p of each unit i use at my house

also i got to 30 mill now :)

    WooHoo.

Just made the 7 million. :D.

Hopefully I'll get in the mag again.

For some reason I didn't get in the mag when I made 6 million. :(

[edit]: Just got issue 79 come through the letterbox. My 6 mil is in the mag :D

Hoping to move over the next couple of months so hopefully I may have enough left over to fill a couple more of those empty graphics cards slots and get some more points for me and the team.

Alot of my computer customers have, or are affected by serious illness. I'm seriously chuffed that I get to fix their computers and make them happy, and that I'm also making a contibution to the research that can help their conditions.

I usually tell them about folding@home and what we do. While we may not be able to help them individually today, they really appreciate what us 'geeks' are doing.

    I'm happy today :D
