Afternoon all. I'm trying to remove linux from one of my machines (gonna run it as a VM within windows hopefully). I've created a bootable CD within Nero, PC boots from CD but when it gets to the DOS prompt I can't type anything?? Any thoughts Dean
BIOS option - USB Keyboard needs to be enabled. Where and what it is called varies from mobo to mobo.
I've enable the keyboard in the bios, but still won't let me type anything at the dos prompt Although the numlock light now comes on.
Interesting. What keyboard is it? I know some keyboards go a bit mental when not in windows. You might have to grab a cheap and cheerful keyboard as a backup (i have a bendi-board for emergencies)
The keyboard is a microsoft jobbie. (Possibly why??) . I must have the odd keyboard around here somewhere!! Cheers Dean
is it wireless?, had this issue the other day even with usb legacy support for usb devices in the bios it wont work.
@ adam_bagpuss - I've just tried another keyboard (logitech) and it works fine. Problem is now, you guys might be able to help, fdisk won't delete any of the partitions at all and it is refusing to re-write the mbr too Also the bootable Cd i'm using hasn't got 'Debug' function on it!! Dean
What is on this boot disk? I would get an Ultimate Boot Disk iso and use that - more tools than you can shake a USB stick at.
