Win7 64bit - all software updates applied Gigabyte P55 UD3L rev 1 - f5 bios applied 2x crucial PC1066 RAM 2GB DDR3 Sapphire Radeon 5770 - 10.2 catalyst drivers applied I had actually tried to post this entire message on my machine itself and then it ironically BSOD'd as I clicked create thread. Fffff.... Anyway, so my PC seems to BSOD at present. Can be either idle or while playing tf2 or surfing. Oddly enough I have just started to fault find and have removed the ethernet cable, as at present I am still waiting for my wireless dongle to arrive, and guess what - no BSODs. Hmm!!! Any ideas where to go next? Perfect without the cable but would like to play online would be interested to hear if anyone has had similar trouble.

Hmm, thank you kind sir, I will download them and stick on a memory stick, just to be safe. I was dropping enough bricks when I recently updated the BIOS, so I don't really want a repeat performance. It also seems that the drivers have recently been updated as well - good news. +1 rep to you!
It was going so well!! A full 2 hours of fine operation, now it has started acting up AGAIN! I'm not entirely sure I have the right chipset drivers installed, either that or I have NO idea how to manipulate the chipset driver set and install. INF driver set = wtf. Anyway, with much swearing, back to stage one!
what file is causing teh BSOD? use Blue Screen View to tell you - the download link is near the bottom of the page.
Ok, so if my networking causes BSODs, is it safe to assume then that the board is faulty? RMA is now out of the question with the etailer but might a replacement board work? (I'll pick a different manufacturer, never again another gigabutt board!) In other news, I have verified I have the latest chipset drivers running for LAN, Chipset and Audio. Golygys, I've just seen your comment about Bluescreenview, I'm going to try that out and get back to you. I'll let you know what's going on afterwards.
Bluescreenview detects all the BSOD problems as coming from ntoskrnl.exe as an unexpected kernel mode trap. As far as I can figure out, this is usually caused by hardware failure, probably just on the chip used for ethernet. Can anyone verify whether I have this diagnosed correctly? Damn you, Gigabutt; I was just out of my 28 day warantee period with ebuyer when this started to happen.
Gigabyte will replace the board. I assume you have a business account with ebuyer then? If you have a cheap NCI lying around, try it. Also try a live OS (such as suse), and enable network see if that crashes. Also try a clean install of windows on a seperate HDD Also try the ethernet drivers from the CD rather than the latest versions.
you have the error code from the bsod southern? you could try to remake your swap file.. see that's a possibility with that error besides hardware drivers.. set it custom size for 4096-4096 run prime95 and see if the ram is stable too
