Ok I installed a simple square window in my case with molding that is suppose to stick to the case permantly.

Got some uv reaction rounded cables and fans also dual UV cold cathodes.

Seems kool but first thewindow fell out cause of the lame glue, computer didnt even boot up because of the rounded cables. Cold cathodes are fooked, 1 doesnt work and other berly lights up.

I managed to get my system to work but the cold cathodes are still fooked and thats 30 bucks wasted.

Oh and the window is back in, wish i had a digi cam to show you guys.

yeah, for duel cold cathodes, 2 x HDD and teh two optical drives, i wouldn't go for less than a 450w PSU, 500 would be a safe bet, teh cold cathodes should tell you their wattage (is that a word?) and i would have thought the rest of ur system would be taking up 300w already. which is mostlikely the cause of ur prob, as for the window, you cant beat mastic!:naughty:

well I have 4 ccfls, 2 hdds, cdrw, dvdrom, 4 fans, lcd, el wire, plus hardware on a 300 W and never had any problem

450/500W is mostly excessive for a normal comp.

go there for wattage and see if you have enough http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13504

I just replaced a hard-drive for a business that had a pIII 933 w/cd and 2 harddrives on a 90 watt psu... The brownout condition caused by the underpowering caused the motor controller on the Maxtor 60gb to eventually smoke out. Not good.

At this price I purchased 3 of these 400w Power supplys, I crossed the wires on one accidently with a LED mod gone wrong, so I only have 2 of them, but at only $13.51 including free shipping, you can't realy go wrong. Not name brand, but hey, it only costs $13.51!!!

    20 gig HD
    dvd player
    cdrw

    1 uv cc
    1 green cc
    1 80mm antec tri led
    1 60mm fan for the gf4mx

    80gig Maxtor HDD
    Seagate HDD
    DVD-Rom
    CDRW
    3.5 FDD
    120mm intake fan
    80mm exhaust fan
    slot cooler exhaust
bay cooler with 3x 40mm Evercool fans
    and one UV CCFL
........all on a 250w generic / Gateway PSU !! :eeek:

And it's all running rock solid stable at the moment!!

In my (admittedly limited) experience, I think you'd need a serious amount of kit in your system to justify using a 500w PSU
