He spent all that money on the tacky decor but didn't even get an AMX/Crestron automation system? I'd rather spend the money on a comprehensive, fully automated HT setup instead of those horrid columns, awful drapes and tacky gold paint.
I have to agree. It certainly is an acheivement, but intodays understated world it looks so wrong. Might look cool in India. I think they go for that sotra a thing.
Why does that remind me of the Trafford Centre? lol I love the idea of a proper home theatre room, but the decor in that one is definitely tacky and overdone.
Agreed; tacky. I think it would all be very distracting when trying to watch a film in there, reflections and such.
Not to my taste, but the amount of work put into that is impressive. If I were to build a proper home cinema I'd go for dark, clean walls and dramatic lighting. And very, very good sound proofing and dampening. Actually, I would probably just build a sound studio and put a big-ass screen and good seats in it.
My favourite cinema in Brisbane was almost like this (but not quite as gaudy). The painted ceiling and the column lights are full of win. With a little less OTT I would consider this setup. Mine would be more Art Deco but.
I don't see why he installed 12 chairs.. no way does he have 11 buddies, if he had, it would be some beer-cases as chairs, projector stand, and 4 beer-cases combined with a plywood sheet as a table... AND BTW, who the fork uses the 56K warning in 2010... 2010 man, is there a single sole on the civilized part of the world that uses anything slower than 256K... my cellphone is faster than 56K modem..
