    Am I the only metalhead that doesnt like slayer?:worried:

    Anyways, I am listening to The Crimson Armada - The Final Word right not. Been listening to the Kingdom of Might album by Woe of Tyrants a lot lately though(just bought it).

    TBH - i didn't get them for a loooong time. Then I got "God hates us all", and from there on there was a spot in my heart for real thrash bands (i.e. NOT post-1986 Metallica, but more like Testament, Overkill, Slayer). Got most of their albums imported these days. Only managed to get Christ Illusion here (which is funny, because it got taken off the shelves AS I bought it)...

    With Slayer it's not about shred at all, though - it's undiluted aggression. That's what makes Slayer special.
    King is known to be difficult, though - very oppiniated and hard to get along with at times.

    I don't need shred in my music though, 8 Foot Sativa rarely has guitar solos, just crushing riffs and they are pretty aggressive. I could post some lyrics, but there would be a lot of **** haha. Just listen to the abused or chelsea smile.

    Slayer suffers from marmite symptom, though. You're not gonan find a lot of appreciators of 80's thrash that don't like Slayer.
    As Rob Zombie once said: "I've never seen the guy that says "I was really into Slayer... one summer" - you only know the guys that have "SLAYER" tattooed or carved accross their chest"

    I'm sure you have noticed that I love 80's thrash from my music suggestion lists, though. In fact, Testament is probably my 2nd favorite band ever. Ah well, to each his own I suppose.
