If he can follow the ideals of Pastafarianism I am willing to accept Gene Genie as the human incarnation of His Noodlyness.

Hmmn, I'm not so sure I didn't enjoy Ashes to Ashes as much as LoM but what the hell I'll watch it anyway.

    So - where is Alex?

Has she gone back to the 'real' world and the weird **** happening is part of coming round and the drug's shes been given, or is she in a coma in 1982, living a present day fantasy? Ooooo. Love Gene on all the monitors at the end.

And Shaz in her wedding dress packing heat. Guess it wasn't unlucky for Chris to see her in it before the big day. :)

Did anyone notice that Molly's get well card seemed to be a poster plastered all over the carpark at the station?

I actually think that the second series was much better than the first, it was much more like LoM (the good parts) and I thought it ended quite well.

Philip Glennister was on BBC Breakfast this morning, there will probably be link to it on the Beeb's website.

I can't believe no one's resurected this thread and started talking about the final episode....

    Oh, wait... :)

    What did everyone think?

I thought it was excellent! It really finished the whole thing off nicely.

Some brilliant performances in the final episode too.

    Shame about the Quattro though.

Made me think of a cross between the last episode of Quantum Leap and the Sixth Sense, pretty good way to cross the t's and dot the i's.

    Good to see Nelson again.

Truly a great series! I'm sad to see the show go. Pint anyone?

Very nice. Not sure about the guy at the end for the new series though, seemed like he might annoy me.

I never thought they were making a new series... They've filled in all the plotholes and most of the old characters are non-existant, there's no real point.

There is no more Ashes to Ashes or Life on Mars. That's it.

I just want to know what happened to Annie from Life on Mars for her to end up there. It's gonna bug me now.

Well, I finally saw the last episode yesterday (I recorded the series on my HTPC but took ages to catch up --1Tb of HDD gives you a lot of room for manoeuvre) and I can't help but feeling a bit like that hillbilly character in Stephen King's story Secret Window, Secret Garden: "You stole my story...".

Here's why. Remember how we discussed the finale of Life On Mars in April 2007. Like some other members I felt that the ending was a but weak, and I proposed an alternative ending:

That was on 11th April 2007. You can imagine my surprise at the striking similarities to the finale of Ashes to Ashes. They stole my story! *******s! :p
