Batman Arkham Assylum Game of the Year Edition, 14.99 (50% off)

 

Now that's a bargain. If you haven't played it that's well worth the price of admission.

 

It's been real quiet for bargains so Batman is good to see!

 

Sup Com 2 is £9.99 at Gameplay and I think it was £9.99 at Amazon too.

I almost bought it at £12.49 thinking it was a good deal, glad I looked around, .

 

Batman is a great game, however one word of warning it does contain SecureROM with a 4 machine install limit.

 

I thought Batman AA was average, nothing spectacular in that game!

 

You'll only want to play it once over a weekend so 4 is excessive

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, £14.99

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Game of the Year Edition, £3.25

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Game of the Year Edition, £6.80

 

I am contemplating fallout - but what is the time commitment?

I never really got into the elder scrolls games because they felt like a slog- would i like fallout?

 

Team Fortress 2 on Mac just released, FREE to those who already own it on PC (steamplay), or £6.99 to the rest.

I liked Fallout a lot, but it is a time sap! And I don't usually like time sap games.

 

Just gotten Oblivion GOTY edition. For that price it's rude not to. And HORSE ARMOR!

 

Almost tempted to have another blast through Morrowind... with the right mods it doesn't look so hideous and it's definitely a better game than Oblivion imo.

 

Get in, just ready for a bit of Friday night gaming as well, will leave my laptop on to download that overnight.

 

Oh! I need help then. I don't fancy spending a full tenner on 2 games (III & IV) that I might struggle to find the time to complete, but happy to get either. I was thinking (wrongly?) that IV was the way forward, because it's newer. But you say I could spend £3.25 and have a better time? Is it also possible to bolt-on the mods on the Steam version? I would guess so but I'm not an expert on what can or cannot be done with Steam.

 

You can mod a Steam version of a game yeah, the folders will just be in different places.

Morrowind plays quite differently from Oblivion. It's quite a bit more daunting for a start, with limited fast travel, more magic, armour and weapon skills to balance, very little voice acting and generally higher difficulty curve.... its not a game thats instantly playable by any means (it's also the only game i've ever played thats required me to sit with the map folded out in front of me).

I'd say for £3.25 it's definitely worth experiencing.


EDIT: But just like Oblivion it needs mods to really make it work, though they are easy to find.

 

morrowind is by far the better game imo, theres plenty of mods about, but even as it is it'll be the best £3.25 you spend.

 

TF2 is free for the weekend, should appear in your Steam games list

(I'll get Morrowind GOTY, though. Have the regular edition but the price is right. Just bought Oblivion GOTY some time ago and I don't think there's anything I really need in the Deluxe Edition.)
