Uhh craigbru I'd like to ask for a small favor, could you please add something like "UPDATE 7.6." to the topic when ever there's an update to the log? This thread is probably going to be spammed with so many bumps and "are we there yet"s it's going to stick to the top all the time. You know I love seeing your work, but without the tag I just keep popping to the thread all the time to check for something new.

That said, keep up the excellent work, can't wait to see the carbon covers finished! :)

Craig, the squirrel mixer won't aerate the resin that much anyway, and if your really worried about trapped air, make a little vacuum chamber considering you've got the gear for the vac bag.

Best video i have found on youtube of what i spent a good year learning and doing.

However even if the resin is like foam your roller is your friend and the vac bag will fix all! lol!

I'm doing a good job then! :thumb:

Lol, I actually linked the project overview video in the first post of this thread.

Overlord, huh? Sounds like fun. Now I need minions to do my bidding... :D

    Thanks man!

Lol, you guys are funny. :D

    Haha, hopefully soon.

You're right, I should do that, and normally would. I'll remedy that shortly, and thanks for the kind words.

Lol, not a bad video. Mixing the resin isn't that bad. The batch I mixed last was perfect, I was just too slow.

Anyway, I apologize for not updating last night guys. I've been struggling with a pinched nerve in my neck, and subsequent pain in my right arm. It was really bad yesterday, and I didn't even make it down to the shop. I'll be having an MRI done tomorrow, and likely have a surgery in my future. It sucks, but I'll keep plugging away, and will still have the update soon. :D

I'll be okay guys. I'm not going to do anything that will make things worse. Right now it's just a constant ache with the occasional stabbing pain thrown in. Since it's nerve thing and not a muscle thing, as long as I'm cautious with what I do, the pain doesn't get worse with simple activities. It just doesn't go away... I've been dealing with it for a month now, and it's getting old. I'll keep modding when I can, since it's keeping my mind occupied.

Could I be so bold as to suggest perhaps a chiropractor before you start cutting up your neck?

Pinched nerves is sorta their thing. Instead of fixing the problem try fixing the cause!

A good chiro will be able to crack your neck in the right way to relieve that pressure on your nerve just fine. May take a few sessions, but it will be cheaper than a surgeon and a more right/permanent solution.

And, if it doesnt work, then start chopping.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

I've already been to the best chiropractor in the area multiple times. He is the one that referred me to a MD as well. I was also on Prednisone (steroid pills) for two weeks, and they didn't help much. At this point the MRI is needed to pinpoint the exact problem spot, and we'll take it from there. Surgery isn't a certainty, but it's likely. Believe me, the last thing I want is someone poking around in my neck. I've just exhausted the normal fixes at this point.

Despite being in a little pain, I'm gonna show you the CF. What you are looking at is the final layer of fiber needed on the case. I'll have to lightly sand a few small air bubbles, but otherwise it's cosmetically pretty darn good. I'm also going to apply one more layer of resin before I remove the mold. I want to be sure the CF is well protected from damage. It's a whole lot easier to sand and fix resin than have a blemish in the fiber itself...

Oh wow... I hated waiting, but now I see what I was waiting for. It looks awesome!

What is the plan now though? Start killing dremels trying to get through that thing or start creating aluminium beauty as well?
