I do appreciate the fact that Valve don't release a game until it is actually ready, even 13 years ago when they were developing half life they finished the game, decided it was bollox and started again.
Gutted, although it'll be interesting to find out whether they mean early or late 2011. Naturally I'm hoping (and it sounds this way) that it'd be early-ish 2011.
If you clicked that...there is some stuff about Source 2, is Portal 2 going to be on Valves new engine? Is that the reason for the delay?
Whilst it is frustrating to have to wait so long for Portal 2 and Ep 3, Valve's games rarely disappoint so it is worth waiting for their sequels. Better this than being like Ubisoft and spewing out sequels to franchises in pre-determined cycles.
Ahh back to Valve time. How we love thee! I was getting concerned they might release something on schedule. Good to know they still put making great games before deadlines.
I feel it will only be better for us since they will have more time to spend on it. I can wait patiently............no I can't!
+1 How's the episodic content goiing along? Forget about Episode 3, where's Half-Life 3? Portal was nice...just played it (since they gave it away that is) Beeing the tiny puzzle-platformer that it is, i'm not really hot for a sequel though...
Portal 1 was released as part of the Orange Box. Portal 2 will be a standalone game with a full retail price, like L4D, and will include co-op play. It will be awesome, trust me.
Lol! It probably will be pretty good imo, and the fact that it's delayed is a good sign really as it will end up more polished. Also, this is Valve remember, I trust 'em.
