I find the random use of punctuation and capitalisation combined with the nerd rage somewhat ... creepy. I agree with others that the fact that this has been leaked onto the interwebs means that either there's no hope that this will be made or that the director is desperate to get some publicity to try and put pressure on WB. Either way, it'll be a game-based movie and as such will probably suck big time. In fact, I'm surprised Uwe Boll hasn't thrown his hat into the ring
Movie would be awesome as long they keep the gruesomeness and gore element in, i.e. special moves and fatalities. Has to be 18 rated with lots of blood
It seems that this was made by Kevin Tancharoen. I hope WB pick this up, it's a very nice concept for a Mortal Kombat reboot.
Dammit Johnny dies AGAIN... ugh to be honest I dont like it, it doesnt feel like Mortal Kombat, I mean it would probably make a for a good watch but it just doesnt feel like the game, I mean I loved the first Mortal Kombat movie, the second was okay, the new Sonya they had play in the second one was much hotter but I dont know I have mixed feelings about this one.
WOW this "Hype trailer" looks better the movies they actually made. Hope they make it as the fight scene was very good. My man Reptile is back...Acid spit, Atom Ball, and Disappearing I hope. Jerri Ryan playing Sonja Blade.... IDK as she is old and needs to get buff and learn how to fight or she could just put on her 7 of 9 outfit from Star Trek Voyager and I'd go pay just to see that.
Looks good, but it doesn't really feel like it's really an MK film without Outworld and the threat of the realms being invaded (I happen to like love the original MK film, it perfectly suited the backstory of the games, even if the 2nd one did lose the plot and just tried to fit too many character cameos in just for the sake of it).
Hate to burst your Collective bubbles, but Jeri Ryan is 42, Voyager was her last "hot" role. We shall remember her udderly wonderful role in Voyager though!
Neither would I, but if it was a choice between Emma Watson and 7 of 9, Id be casting spells with my wand!
I was never much interested in MK, but this does look like it could be an awesome film. And, on the Watson versus Ryan debate, all I can say is "Resistance is Futile"...
That clip looked expensively produced. Hopefully MK is done justice and not raped into a shitty blockbuster by the lowest common denominator.
Interview with Kevin Tancheroen about his Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film. I hope WB let him make the feature. http://www.collider.com/2010/06/09/kevin-tancharoen-interview-mortal-kombat-rebirth-feature-film/
