i just found out that if i want an early upgrade to iphone 4, it will cost me £240 as my current contract doesnt run out til next year.

if it ran out july this year, i could have a free upgrade :(

I couldn't have broken my just out of contract 3G at a better time (for anyone who owns an iphone, even with a case, watch out for things like keys in your pockets breaking the pins on the docking port :() Pricey to fix, so not worth it with the upgrade on my contract.

Oh well o2 shop here I come on the 24th

How the hell do you fit a gyroscope in something that thin??? :D

The gyroscope I had when I was younger was a 10cm sphere with a rotating mass in it.

Or do they have electronic gyros now??

They've had electronic gyro's for ages. They are chip-based things based on tiny vibrating parts.

They can put gyroscopes in bulletts, that's how small they can be!

For the price they're asking (£500 - £600) you would have thought the new iphone should have the best hardware etc for a smartphone but it's still playing catch up to things like samsung i8910hd, sony xperia etc!

The hardware is irrelevant to a point.

As long as it does the job I want it to with a seemless experience what is under the hood does not concern me.

    Okay, I'll bite.

What exactly does the iPhone4 need to 'catch up' with in comparison to either the i8910HD or Xperia?

Think I'll skip this generation and wait for the next iteration, with any luck it might be 4G
