I have recently built a system with the following spec:
    i7 920
    GA-X58A-UD3R
    (2x3)Gb corsair xms3
    1Tb Samsung F3
    XFX 1Gb HD5850 Black Edition

I am stuck on the Wondows 7 install. After it has asked which drive/partion to install to it wants drivers which don't seem to be on the install disk, or any other disk I have tried. I'm completly stumped and was hoping someone knew somehing about this issue!

Cant take a screenshot as i dont know how to with no operating system. It says it needs drives to communicate with hdd. Ive looked online and on my disks and it does seem to like any of them!

Reading the review by bit-tech, I noticed this:

"This is quite frankly a silly number of SATA ports for anything other than a file server to have, and it caused a major problem during our tests – the Windows 7 installer froze with the hard disk and optical drive hooked up to the Southbridge-powered SATA ports.

The only way we could solve this curious problem was to install Windows 7 with the drives connected to the Gigabyte SATA2 controller, after which we returned them to the Southbridge-powered ports."

    Not 100% of relevance.

Which revision of the board do you have?

Also, how have you got your ports configured? (AHCI or Legacy?)

How many drives (SATA, USB, flash) are connected - just the F3?

Plug the SATA cable from the drive into a SATA2 port for installation at least (although technically you can leave it there, as the HDD won't saturate a SATA2 port, never mind SATA3).

I've already tried that. It still comes up asking for drivers to communicate with the drive.
