    Surely it's way too late in the day to try and compete with Facebook now. It seems like every moron I've encountered in life has got it (and attempted to add me). Im pretty sure they'll blindly oppose change.

    I don't remember anything called 'Buzz'. I do remember Wave though and a group of people telling me how much more awesome it was than MSN...

    It feels a little bit like Nike deciding they want to take on Coca Cola with the reasoning being nothing more than 'why not'? I was going to be buying shares in Google but I think I will hold off now.

    I quite like the idea of having my email and social networking in the same place. I use google reader, gmail, google calendar and google docs already so itll be nice to see how they all interact with each other.

    Pretty sure MySpace was a bit like facebook a few years ago - look how that changed. It's like a wasteground of the internet these days...

    well I don't really do that much "social networking" but facebook is extremely useful in a lot of ways. I reckon if google can make a decent one it'll be pretty cool. I love the cleanliness google always achieves and I hate how messy facebook is so I'm willing to give it a go when it comes out.

    Hardly a surprise, Google tend to just punch out multiple tools in one market until they get it right, Buzz didn't work, no-ones really figured out how to use wave properly so let them try again with something else.

    As news goes, this is pretty dull. It's well known Google is trying to take over the world. You could tell me they were running for government and I wouldn't even blink.
