Its good to see Apple are seeing this as an issue

I wonder how long it will be before they see the iPhone 4 signal problem as an issue?

Kudos for not burying their heads in the sand. It's always hard for a company like that to admit they've made a mistake.

Good news that they are honouring repairs outside of a normal failure period, certainly seems to be falling in the catagory of the "sales of goods act" as the likely motivation for a backup devices reasonable lifespan.

what issue? haven't you heard, new features in iPhone 5 is that it will be available for left handed people.
there are NEVER issues with iphones, just the next version will have those revolutionary features included in it.

as much as i love to have a jab at apple, its a hard drive, expecting it to be some magical (although they do seem to claim magic is a feature of the ipad in their latest advert) device that will never fail is silly.

From what I've read there isn't an issue its a badly programmed signal range and mis-understanding, to an extent.

The hard drives aren't the problem which is why the data can still be recovered, it's that the things just stop turning on due to bad power supplies - some people have put guides online showing how to replace it and fix the problem. These things were just flawed.

Who could have seen trusting apple to protect your data could be a bad idea until after a recall...

Sometimes I wonder if I will ever hear of a product that they have made where the first revision does not have a bunch of critical problems.

Wow I'm in shock, the Apple way has always been to claim the defect as a feature more or less.
