Let me please introduce project: 'GreenCase Wireless'

...first of all sorry for my english skill

I'd like to say 'Hello' to all of bit-tech users as I am quite newbie on this forum ;)
I'm impressed by mods that are being showed up here, so I decided to share my worklog right there :)

That's my third mod and I've been trying to base it on experience from the past ones.
So the shape i decided to make is gonna look like this:

When I've been thinking about shape I thought that I'll make a passive cooling.
So I was afraid that the heat will accumulate and that's why I managed to do circle-shape top of case.

You may laugh, it's quite funny, but It looks nice so I've got nothing to loose :D

Ok, so the rounded part will be made from anodized aluminium and the mobo wall too and the rest from plywood with black laminate.
Material like in my last case (not very impressive case, isn't it? )

Next to the mobo there will be 2 Laing D5 Vario and the CPU and GPU will be water cooled.

water-cooling bricks: ,I am still looking for radiators and can't decide

I have to improve my photography skills, because these photos looks like a sh** :(
... or maybe buy a new camera? ;)

    That I have to do:

    - buy aluminium
    - laser cut aluminium
    - anodize aluminium
    - buy plywood
    - water cut aluminium
    - buy hoses, nozzles
    - buy cables

... oh, I nearly forgot, why 'Wireless' ?
because there will be no cables seen
power and HDD will be soldered from the back of the mobo :D:D:D

    EDIT:
I saw people showing their temporary rigs, so here is mine: :hehe:

why lego? ...well, I'm 15yo :grr:

    EDIT:

Today I've bought 2 sqare meters of 1mm aluminium.
It's nice itself, but It will be nicer when Macintosh-way anodized.

    And the backpanel:

    will be painted black

Let nobody say anything ill about Lego. I'm just turning 27 and just got back into Lego Technic. I forgot how damned awesome it is.

Nice idea, I'll keep an eye on this one :)

Fabou, as you can see down this post, I didn't curve it by myself so it was not a problem.
I'm more afraid of assembling it into the plywood ;)
Naloac, yap, never too late for LEGO fun :D

Today I cutted the sheets of aluminum and made the curve ;)
Not by myself, but the quality of cut is good enough I think.

    the sheet under the mobo:

    and the curved one:

It's not straight enough, but this aluminium is weak enough to make it straight when assembling.

The aluminium will be mounted in the gap in the plywood.

That's view from the side, there is mobo wall marked and the gap.
Sheet of aluminium will be slipped (fitted) into those gaps on both sides ... at least that's what I hope ;):D

    EDIT:

I've finally finished the project of the mobo wall, tommorow gonna laser-cut it.[IMG]

I had some issues with laser-cutting the plywood
In Bydgoszcz, where I live they cut up to 5mm while mine is 10mm
    So have to water-cut it.

The other sad thing is that the ASUS GTX275 that I bough is not the reference PCB, despite it looks like an reference one, so I have to look for another one,
because my Koolance VID-275 doesn't fit :wallbash:

there it is! :D finally I water-cutted the plywood and the mobo tray

a bit too short radiator :D the hole is for a 3x120 one
    [IMG]

pumps will be mounted outlet down
    [IMG]

sorry for the quality of the photos, but I'm 24/7 on low battery, no luck with my charger

..and please, comment, it's so quiet in this topic ;)

I'd like to know what you, guys, think about the color of the plywood?
I have no idea to leave it or to paint it

some extra stuff: :D will be painted matt red

    red pcb
    [IMG]

    black pcb :D
    [IMG]

Dupli-Color's pretty good for painting PCBs

I decided to paint the brown plywood black.
I hope I'll finish painting today.

It's only left to anodize the aluminium and I start to assembly the case.

there's still lots of things left, ex. the aluminium is still not curved good enough, but most is done ;)

Sorry for not posting the progress, but I'm without internet access for like 2 weeks
when I'll get internet connected, will post all the photos ;)

I love how this design is so simple, and yet so effective :thumb:, also the black PCB is a nice feature too.

    thanks, I'm trying ;)

that's what I'm aiming for ;) simple design.

however, soldering 24-pin ATX from bottom of MoBo is not a simple design :D

    yes, it's not small ;) 68-centimetres tall and 47 wide ;)

Thanks, I'm in Germany too till 28. of August :D
    best regards from Lubeck!

Cool, and don't forget to eat a lot of "Lübecker Marzipan"(should be almond paste in English?!)!! It's the best! ;)

Why do you use two Laing D5? You need the flow?

I'm presuming serperate loops for CPU and GPU. Could be wrong though, which is more than possible.

Very nice looking design here and really good skills for your age mate :thumb: Wish i'd access to that level of component when i was 15, but when i was 15 the p166 was cutting edge.

Lübecker Marzipan, well for me it's too sweet, but my mama says it awesome :D

I use one Laing for CPU loop and one for GPU loop.
Normally I would never buy a hundred-dollars pumps, but I bough two of them for 240zł, about $80 :D
..and that's why I mounted two of them ;)

I agree ;) so separated them. When it comes to my age, I think I was just lucky that I started to be interested in case modding in such an age.
I had no money for a nice case2 years ago and that's how it started.. ;)

as promised, I'm posting the missing part of worklog here:
couldn't do it earlier because of no access to web ;)

CMOS battery painted black to fit he color of mobo pcb ;)

    all the LC stuff :D
    [IMG]

first run of LC to check if block doesn't leak
    [IMG]

that's how the bottom of the case is gonna look like ;)

    and one more shot
    [IMG]

    glueing ;)

    main form finished :D
    [IMG]

the way how the MoBo and pumps tray will be mounted
the magnetics are very strong (rated for 5kgs) so they should do the job
    [IMG]

    ta da da dam :D

and there it is.. cable management
took about 3 hours to solder ;)

    hoses on place (temporary)

without mobo, LC filled with Feser One Blue
    [IMG]

and some shots of current progress: ;)

there's still a lot to do and a lot to improve ;)

please comment what you don't like and you think need to be changed,
becasuse I'm not enough creative for last too weeks I think ;)
(not the pump placement, there will be a holder for a hundred % :D )
