Some rather bawlsy hardware mods there. Interesting to see what you're gonna do about the PCI-e power :D Lovely design with the chassis as well, though a smaller version would be even more luvely.

That cable modding is awesome O_O

Get caps for the ATX/8-pins, so they're black? Also could you link this fantastic paint that you can paint onto PCBs?!

Saw it with the cables directly soldered to the back of the mainboard before, but this is still very rare and definitely coming nice. :thumb:

Have you used some more professional soldering iron?

men usually have testiciles, thought the point is the size :grr:
    ..just kidding, thanks :D

    thanks ;)
the best thing is that most of the people looking at the MoBo miss the fact that there are no cables. They just don't see it and forget about the cables.

Few minutes later I say: 'hey, look at the cable management'
and then it's always the same: 'wow, I didn't notice that' :D

I still didn't decided how to power the HD4870x2.
The connectors aren't on the edge of PCB, they are more like on a MoBo.
It won't be a piece of cake to solve it for sure.
I'm glad you like the design ;)

no, It's not a fake, this computer works

The paint is an usual Dupli-Color Spray.
I got it at the hardware store. Nothing special ;)

oh, where have you seen it?
damn, I thought I'm one of the first ones :(

I used soldering station, It's not proffessional at all, but it's rather a good one ;)

Balls of solid steel. On the other hand, WHY paint the PCB? :(

I hate it when people do that; half the fun of ciruitry is being able to see the traces. Still, whatever makes you happy...

Took me a minute to find it but here More Crazy Soldering

His original idea was to either solder driectly to the mobo with the atx plugs removed or to reverse the atx plugs to the rear of the mobo (not sure which) but has since (i think) decided to just solder directly to the rear of the connectors as you have.

Like people say though, a very rare mod and expertly carried out by your good self. :thumb: top notch work here.

P.S. I'm really hope that you figure out a way to have every single wire 100% hidden like the ATX ones for a totally phantom powered rig! I can't think of anything for the PCI power apart from hiding as much as possible of it inside a sleeved a sata cable but then there would be at least 40-50mm still visible when it separates.

I meant a mod of a German guy. Here's the link. When I reviewed it I saw he did it to the IDE and USB cables too.

Maybe you can use the center hole in the mainboard (for the mounting screw) for the cables of the gfx. Route them directly on the pcb and then through the hole as it's nearly at the height of the plug, or?

    thanks ;)

It's nice you appreciate my work, thx ;)
hope I won't mess the cable management with the GPU

Well, I had to try. The MoBo was 4-months old, so the fear was smaller ;)

You know... my mama said exactly the same thing :D
Hopefully, the HD4870x2 has black PCB

Luckly, the HD4870x2 is longer than the MoBo.
It gives some headroom to hide the cables.

I've been thinking to bridge all the +12 volts and grounds so only 2 cables are needed.
    Rather thick cables ;)

Hiding two cables would be much easier.

that's a really good idea! :jawdrop:
I'd have to move the GPU to the 1st slot, it's in the 3rd now.
And the holes are directly by the PCB :thumb:
I'll give it a try for sure ;)

That is a genius idea :thumb:

However (and i know you would already have thought of it but ;)) make sure you fix a short piece of tubing (like watercooling tube) of the same height as the other risers to the motherboard tray around that screw hole.

I would be terrified of pushing a graphics card in when that screw is missing, even knowing that its pretty sturdy and all the other screws are in place. :worried:

Great idea with the hose, Throbbi ;)

Honestly, I've been sitting for 10 minutes reading your post and I couldn't understand what you mean :D But when I read it about 10th time I realized what you mean :)

I'll put the hose for sure :thumb:

    On the date of 11.11.11:thumb:

Well, I'm sure you thought I'm gonna leave this project unifinished.
    I thought so too ;)

But three weeks ago I decided to finish it the proper way. ...at least I wanted to finish it the proper way.

So the pictures below present the nearly-finished case with minor enhancements left to be done :D
I called it GreenCase Wireless MK I.

So glad you've got this going again  I adore the way it looks with zero cabling visible :) Can't wait to see it complete 100% :thumb:
